[network/open] @max; video; day 004, late morning
[He was not particularly fond of the fact that these devices could broadcast videos but hey it could come in handy at times. Such as this. On the screen was a bunch of snow but above that snow was a small, black card that resembled an SD card for the tablet being held tentatively between forefinger and thumb. Max had no idea what the thing was for but he took it with him anyway. A quick search of his tablet had found a slot where it might fit. But was that a good idea?]
What does it do?
[The gruff voice was short, to the point, and did not bother to clarify any more than that.]

voice only ID is LELRIC
I'm not sure, does it say anything on it? Is there anything on any of the sides?
Voice; ID: max
No.
[And again it's really short and to the point.]
no subject
[Well, that was succinct and kind of awkward.]
It's not some kind of food, is it? It's kind of hard to see from this position.
no subject
No. It's plastic and metal.

[He wishes he could look at it himself, but he'll have to make do with the video feed.]

It was that 'whatever' part that sort of concerned him. What if it messed with the tablet in an unwanted manner?]
You think it has something useful on it.
[Not really a question, but still a prompt.]
no subject
[Or pictures of someone's cat.]
no subject
[Cat pictures would be preferred at this point to what his mind keeps coming up with.]

Looks like an old SD card to me. There should be some sort of data on it that you can access once you plug it into your device. Do you see any numbers or anything? That might tell you the amount of data it's capable of storing.
Voice; ID: max
No. No numbers. No writing.
[Physically speaking. He has no idea if anything is being stored on it.]
Video; ID: technicalities
Have you tried accessing the data yet? It could give some more clues about this place.
[He debates for a moment, then sighs.]
There's also the possibility it contains corrupted data, or a virus. If you have information on your tablet, make sure someone else has a backup before you access the files. If something goes wrong, try a factory reset. It should clear out any malicious apps that might be installed from the card for any reason.

[A brief pause as Max tries to assimilate the instructions.]
How do I do that?

Now if I recall, you ain't the only one found onea these things. [Which isn't too unusual on its own, but the methods and results are what have Clayton's attention. He pensively scratches his chin with his free hand.] Where'd you find yours?
Voice; ID: max
He's not sorry.]In a basement.

So not onea them blank ones from the machine? [Hmm.] I'll bet it's been used, then. Prob'ly got data on it, if it ain't damaged from lyin' 'round so long, don't you think?

Is there anything interesting on it?
Voice; ID: max
Don't know.
[He hasn't checked yet. Still considering it.]

[Her curiosity is more than a little overbearing, but thankfully the network dampens that a little bit. She can't crowd at his elbow and peer at his tablet over the network, anyway.]
no subject
That's what they say.
[But did he really want to go screwing around with this thing? He could barely operate it properly as it was.]
