[He was not particularly fond of the fact that these devices could broadcast videos but hey it could come in handy at times. Such as this. On the screen was a bunch of snow but above that snow was a small, black card that resembled an SD card for the tablet being held tentatively between forefinger and thumb. Max had no idea what the thing was for but he took it with him anyway. A quick search of his tablet had found a slot where it might fit. But was that a good idea?]

What does it do?

[The gruff voice was short, to the point, and did not bother to clarify any more than that.]

[A brief pause as Max tries to assimilate the instructions.]

How do I do that?

[Oh boy.]

It... varies from tablet to tablet. You might have to do a little trial and error. Generally it's a combination of either holding down the power button or a volume key. A message should appear on the screen and you'll want to use the volume keys to select either "recovery" or "factory reset" if the touch screen doesn't function. If it doesn't say that exactly, just look for wording with a similar gist.

Ahh.

[He intones in acknowledgement. There are probably words to use here for gratefulness but he does not speak them. Instead he hesitates briefly before nodding (someone should tell him to use video for this very reason) and then:]

Got it.

If you have any trouble, give me a call.

[feralone]

If I have trouble, I doubt I'll be able to give you a call.

[Just calling it like it is.]

[tadashiwashere]

...I sort of meant before you potentially mess with the tablet. But no. You won't be able to call if you have tablet trouble.

[He's just going to press a hand to his face and stop trying to help. He's talking himself in circles trying to explain what he meant.]

Just, good luck, okay?

much later that night

[After lock-down Max finally decides to take the risk of inserting the SD card into his tablet device. He watches the video a few times before deliberately knocking the tablet far away from himself.

A voice taunts him in his mind, whispering accusations and demands for his absence.

Later, he carefully picks the device back up. There are no words from him but the road warrior sends out a downloadable file to everyone that showed interest in what he had found. The file contains a video.]

[Sleep isn't going to come easy tonight. Too much has gone wrong over the course of the evening by the time Tadashi finally watches the video just to have something to keep his mind off of Clayton and the locked doors that he can't break through. He feels trapped and anxious, and as he watches the video, his concern grows instead of lessens.

Was this supposed to take place in the same town? What were they protesting? What happened to this place to become abandoned?

Uneasy, Tadashi keys up the voice function and sends Max another message.]

Is that the only video on the card? That is from the card, right?

[feralone]

Yes. [beat] And yes.

[tadashiwashere]

What are your thoughts? I feel like it raises a lot more questions instead of giving any answers.

[feralone]

[Are you seriously asking Max his thoughts on the whole subject? This is not a guy that wastes time with words and Tadashi should know this by now. Max just grunts dismissively.]

It's not my concern.

[Besides, he would rather not think about it. There was something that may have been worth note to those investigating this place during the end of the video but Max's attention could not get past the little girl and her birthday party. It haunted him. Made the voices in his head louder. He wanted to throw the SD card away, not think about it.]
