I hope so, young man! Don't let this old lady outpace you. (Assuming you are a man of course. Your username leads me to that conclusion.)

I am interested in snails for a variety of reasons! I have always loved them. For baking or for observation. Ants are equally fascinating, though I did not get many chances to read about them. What facts do you know about ants? I'm sure we can exchange facts and learn!

i'm a girl, actually
name's allison cameron
i go by cammy
my family just owns a horse farm/brewery upstate
i'm so embarrassed everyone thinks i'm a guy
you wouldn't believe the grief a lady gets here

what other facts have i got, though?
lemme think
ants are the longest-living insects
queens can live up to 30 years
talk about a dynasty with as fast as they pop little baby ants out

[He'd just see how long he could maintain the ruse without someone spoiling the fun.]

Oh! My apologies then, dear : )! We can see if we can change your username in the future if it gives you such problems.

How fascinating! I knew they lived quite awhile, but 30 years is quite astonishing!

Did you know snails can live a long life as well. It depends on their habitat and species, but some range from 5 years to 25 years in rare cases!

i knew i should have gone with "ponyprincess"
but i didn't want to be a stereotype, you know?

wow it sounds like snails have got it going on, too

[They are beginning to reach the end of House's interest in snails, though. Unless she knows any poisonous ones.]

so do you just do land snails or are you into ocean ones, too?
not many ants in saltwater
but did you know that groups of ants for rafts with their bodies to float and survive in floods?

I understand. It only ironically left the assumption going the wrong way. Goodness.

I primarily focused on land snails since there were a variety of them in the place I lived. I could not easily access the sea. A bit biased I know.

Really? My goodness! I never knew that : )! Are there many ants like that?

that's too bad
the ocean's pretty great
i bet you'd like sea snails
cone snails are the coolest
poisonous enough to kill people

main ants i know of who do the raft thing are fire ants
not even floods can kill the assholes
they raft up in about two minutes flat with the queen and larvae perched on top
all of them have hairs on their body
enough to let them live for a couple weeks on the water
provided fish don't pick them all off
