[And he's been keeping up with what responses Toriel's already received. Though Sans' voice message was private, well...kind of hard not to pick up some of it when he's in the same building with the skeleton.]
Um...you're Frisk's mom? They mentioned you once. Frisk is my friend. We've been traveling together. [He pauses, realizing his mistake.] I mean, we were, until...yesterday.
[Talking about Frisk is making his stomach churn, but he can't stop himself. He just wants to not feel so sad anymore.]
Do you really use magic to cook stuff? That's what Frisk told me. When they mentioned you, I mean.

Yes, I am Frisk's mother. [Using the title even now makes her feel happier than she has in a long time.] I do! Or I did? I don't believe I can use magic here. Fire magic is very useful for baking.

It's nice to meet you too. You sound really nice. [But mothers are supposed to be nice, right? Being raised without parents, he doesn't really know. There weren't very many mothers around back home.] What kind of things do you bake? Do you bake a lot?
no subject
I quite enjoy baking pies. Though I'll try my hand at most things given a proper recipe. Before this, I was baking quite a bit for my family.

[He's had the kind that are really tiny and in wrappers, that are full of a lot of extra stuff so they stay fresh for a long time. But he's never had a real pie, in a pan, made with love and fresh ingredients. Too hard to find the ingredients. But regardless of that fact, this conversation is already starting to lift his spirits a little. Not enough to make him not feel so shaken, but at least he doesn't feel like...like he's broken down into a bunch of little pieces and nothing matters anymore.]
What's family like? I mean...do you have a big one? [He pauses.] Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. I've never talked to a mom before.
[At least, he doesn't think anyone in the Nonary game was a parent, but he doesn't know them well enough. He'll just assume that they're not.]

You've...? My dear do you have no family? [Toriel's tone shifts to something gentler and protective.] You can ask as many questions as you like, small one.
Frisk is my child. I tend to consider our friends Sans and Papyrus part of our family as well. So its- a big enough family I suppose.

[Even just talking about his Grandpa gets him excited! He misses his Grandpa so much.]
He's not here, though. Oh! But I am with Sans, at least for now. I guess I've already met a lot of your family, huh?
no subject
That you have. I'm sure you would like Papyrus if you met him. He's very excitable, quite enjoys puzzles. [She sincerely hopes he doesn't end up here. Not that she voices that thought.]
no subject
[Even if he knows they won't have very much time together. But...there's nothing anybody can do about that. It's just the way that it is.]
I guess puzzles are pretty fun. I've only played a couple, before. Do you like them, too?
