[network] @Raoul; Minutes [open] Backdated to morning 71
Good morning, everyone. For those who don't know me, I'm Raoul. [ Different from his original introduction. He can't be bothered with all the titles today. Besides, that's all he wants people to call him. ]
Sorry this took so long, but I was a bit incapacitated. I know not all of you could make it to the meeting a couple of days ago, so I'm making a record of what was decided.
Firstly, we discussed setting up a home base. This is where we'll be keeping most of our supplies and holding any future meetings. That'll be the building we held this meeting in, straight south of the western shopping place, with the greenhouse. [ This is building 28. ]
Clayton told us he's setting up the house with hot water just south of headquarters as a clinic, that's another place we'll be keeping supplies. [ This is building 34. ]
Third, supply routes. We worked out a six day route to the eastern shop [ 75 ] and back for extra food stores, two days for supplies from the school and four days down to the healer's [ 130 - pharmacy ] for Clayton's clinic. The clinic and headquarters are close enough for supplies to be distributed between the two on a regular basis.
Fourthly, missions currently taking place: Clayton is working on his clinic, Quark is headed to Shelley Derricks' house, Dr. No-Name to Sparrow Langley's. If anyone has a 'keycard', they ought to head into the ice tunnels to see if it opens the gate down there. Last I heard the 'dissect' fellow was doing autopsies on the bodies in the mass grave up in the northwest. Frisk is working on communicating with these so-called 'anomalies'. I don't have a list of who all is where and doing what, but that's what we talked about.
[OOC| We do not have a decision re: Jack's trial, so this portion of the report will be handwaved until we do have one. Discussion is here. ]
Lastly, an announcement: We confirmed that there are negative effects to staying in one place too long. This is definitely not a coincidence, so keep an eye out for symptoms. You start experiencing paranoia and hallucinations, get a move on to a new building. When it gets worse, you start to have the intense need to move around and some potentially violent outbursts. I don't know what happens when you let it go, but I can't imagine it's anything good.
Let me know if you want more details on anything and I'll provide them as best I can. I'm headed to the clinic now, but I'll be answering messages all day.

Who exactly is "we"? Is this some kind of long-term alliance?

[ He's very easygoing, no annoyance or sharpness in his voice whatever. ]
no subject
[He is not remotely surprised by any of these developments. He'd practically been waiting on them.]
So everyone who attended has agreed to pool supplies in a certain place, and patrol certain paths. How many people?
no subject
He checks his notes. ]
There were 21 of us there, in person and by tablets.
no subject
And where do the rest of us stand with your new arrangement?

It's a real enough offer. If you need rations, you know where to find them.
no subject
An honour system only works while the honourable don't get tired of being that for everyone else.

Ahh. This should be interesting to watch.
[That said, he does have an actual practical question or two.]
I don't have any keycards, but I did find a set of keys a while ago. I don't suppose anyone voiced a need for keys? And... is Clayton sure that a clinic is a good idea, considering this very detailed description you just gave of the effects of staying put?
no subject
Nobody mentioned a need for ordinary keys. I believe the plan is for Dr. Epps to move his patients between two adjacent houses.
no subject
[He makes a wryly amused sound at the answer.] And did anyone volunteer to help with this project? There does tend to be a steady flow of patients, with Clayton. Some of them despite themselves.

Not that I ain't happy fer that too 'r anything. Thanks, man. I'll keep the door cracked for ya.
no subject
Thank you for that, doctor.

Action/Night 70
The plan had been to watch him until he felt comfortable enough to sleep, but somehow he found himself falling asleep earlier than he'd expected. Waking up unable to move had been far from comforting, so once he could move again he scrambles into a sitting position with his back against the wall and facing where he saw Raoul last.*

When he finally wakes up the bird makes a racket of delighted cheeps and flies around him in circles checking for any damage. It takes him a minute to notice the boy, coming as he did out of a three day coma. ]
Oh. Hello there. Did I startle you? [ To the bird: ] Hush, I'm awake now, there's no need to be so loud.
no subject
frightenedstartled.*no subject
It's alright, I'm not going to hurt you. The bird's just excited.
no subject
He doesn't recognize this guy's voice, so the tablet is out...instead he fishes a notepad and pencil out of his backpack. Just in case.*
no subject
Can't talk?
no subject
no subject
Too bad. My name's Raoul. I didn't see you at the meeting. Were you there?
no subject
He shakes his head. Even if his group had been neat the meeting place when it happened he would have stayed away. An idea like that seemed like it was just asking for trouble, even without his distaste for crowds added in.*
no subject
Probably for the best. [ Something occurs to him suddenly, and he pulls an open ration bar out of a pocket for the bird to pick at. She jumps on it. ]
How long have I been unconscious? Was the bird awake when you got here?
[ One question at a time, Raoul. ]
no subject
He shrugs to the first question then nods to the second. She was definitely awake when he went to poke Raoul.*
no subject
[ That makes the next question ironic: ]
You have a name, lad?
no subject
Flipping the notebook open he scribbles in it for a moment before showing it to the other man.
"iam called brian
youwere here sleep ing when icame"*
no subject
The last thing I remember is running away from the creatures at the meeting. How long ago was that?
no subject
He holds up three fingers.*

"ijust got here to day
it is a tablet"*

[ He eyes the boy a moment longer. Not going to get much by way of conversation, he sees. ]
I'd best check on things, now.
