*Finding someone else in the house he was going to be spending the night in was somewhat unexpected and not entirely welcome (it never was, really). Finding someone completely unresponsive was definitely unexpected. He nudges Raoul's prone body a few times before deciding that he's not going to spring up. His company still seemed to be breathing, though, so he retreats to the far side of the room and watches him carefully.

The plan had been to watch him until he felt comfortable enough to sleep, but somehow he found himself falling asleep earlier than he'd expected. Waking up unable to move had been far from comforting, so once he could move again he scrambles into a sitting position with his back against the wall and facing where he saw Raoul last.*
