[Bard has definitely seen the wall, and he's honestly a little worried that it might collapse and trap him in an avalanche. Maybe he should find somewhere else tomorrow...]

It's directly to the north of the house I woke in this morning and goes in either direction farther than I've yet traveled.

[England is starting to get a little concerned about the other accounts of people that have also seen the wall. Maybe they really are closed in.]

I may have a go at it tomorrow to see how thick the wall is. Once I've discerned if it can possibly be tunnelled through, I'll start travelling along the length of it.

Be careful if you do. Tunneling alone is a dangerous business, even in the snow, and we don't know yet that the wall isn't meant to keep something out instead.

I don't plan to go far. I don't have the resources necessary to plan a true tunneling expedition. I'd just like to get an impression of how difficult it might be if someone were to try to tunnel out in the future.

[For all he knows, the wall may only be a few feet thick. He honestly doubts it, but if that is the case, he doesn't want them all to end up dawdling like fools when escape may be a simpler matter than they all assume.

Plus it isn't like he has much else to do.]

As for the possibility of keeping something out, I'd rather find that out sooner than later. I don't think any of us want to stay here longer than necessary, so we need to be prepared for whatever might lie beyond the wall.

[This really isn't settling the internal debate between Bard's knowing that they need information and spending his whole life in a world where the vast majority of settlements have some sort of defense in place.]

Just patch the wall up properly when you come back, then. I don't see why we wouldn't be able to get back through it again once a few people can work on it together.

I'll do my best. It's not as if there's a shortage of snow to fix it back up. I'll record any relevant findings, as well.

Truthfully, I suspect the only thing beyond what we can see of the wall is more snow. [Because England is a pessimist, and anything that has dropped them behind a massive barricade of snow probably doesn't want them getting out so easily.]
