Do you know much about such devices? I fear such things are not commonplace where I am from.

I know a bit. We don't have much video recording things left in the wasteland but there's audio and cameras that take pictures.

Sure. As much as I know anyway. I lean towards more medicine then pure science.

[Hope you defused a nuclear bomb a little while ago....though she is from a wasteland so her tech is super old compared to this. Give her a moment to think about how to explain this.]

Well cameras use light and chemicals to create an image on film. Cameras are pretty simple to use, you point and click a button but developing the film into pictures is the hard part. I'm not sure how you do that but I know you take them out of the camera.

Video is what happens when you take a great many pictures and they string together to show a continuous moving image.

.....the stuff we have here looks like a more advanced version of these. I'd like to take it apart and see how it works, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to put it back together again so that's probably not the best idea.

[Not really, but A+ for effort. The camera angle tips a bit as she glances at the side of the tablet, though it returns to center quickly.]

I cannot imagine there being much to these devices with how light they are, but given it seems to be our only form of communication, I would be hesitant to risk breaking it as well.

[And she's probably even more likely to ruin it beyond repair than Hope is, so she can rest easy in that knowledge, at least.]

Yes, that is correct. In my haste it seems I have lost a chance at creating an alias. [Time will tell if this bites her in the ass.] I am glad to meet someone so helpful and kind, even if I hesitate to say 'it is nice to meet you' in these circumstances.

As for the name. You could always say that was an alias and pick a different name for yourself while you were here.
