Yeah. There's not much difference between that place and this one. [ To a point where he would not even be surprised if they did end up somehow being captives of the Northern Union, really - it would be a lot more normal than any other explanation they could give. ]

Instead of just being for a few months, the winters last really, really long. I don't know if they ever even end.

wow, winter that never ends? i dont know that i would be able to survive long there. but you must be good at it if you lived there!

[ He almost types that he never lived there, but.. well, whatever. What's a little lie when the other person is a stranger anyway? It wouldn't be the first time he hasn't been entirely truthful, anyway. ]

Have you never seen those hero shows on tv? I'm practically like one of those. [ Besides, the mention of it is a memory of warmth, friendship and happier times - and that's sure as hell something he could use right now. ]

Not really what he expected - even as isolated as he'd grown up at certain points in his life, he at least knew what those were. Makes him wonder where this one is from-- after all, he hasn't found any electronic devices here either yet aside from the tablets. ]

It's a device with moving images and sound. Kind of like a storybook, but better.

what kinds of stories does it tell?

All kinds, really. [ In the back of his mind he's still pondering though just how exactly this person has never heard of a TV before.. but he figures it's not really the situation to ask. Not while it's late and it's cold and it's better to distract yourself as much as possible. ]

Do you like stories a lot? Reading them, or listening them.. stuff like that.

i used to read a lot. i like listening to stories, too. they're fun. i'd never be able to tell one, or write one myself though. i'd be so bad at it.

[ It's some surprisingly honest confessions, but he figures they won't mean a thing to someone who doesn't know him - so it's easier to just throw it out there when you know it won't mean much anyway. ]

It's nice when you know someone who can tell them well. It'd sure be distracting at a moment like this.
