[Jay's not entirely sure how to feel about hearing Tim's voice. He's still far from happy about the way their last meeting had ended - Tim had lied to him, humiliated him, taken away everything he had.

But on the other hand. Right now Tim is not sounding good. And despite himself, Jay can't help feeling some sympathy for him.

[ Welp. If your dead friend talking to you isn't a good sign that you've completely gone off the deep end, Tim isn't sure what is.

After the initial stab of stomach-turning shock, he's furious. Whether it's his own mind doing this or it's something the tall creature is doing, it is not okay. The whole situation is beyond sick, and he has no intentions of playing along. ]

[ He's trying to stay calm, but the way his voice is shaking doesn't really help with that. ]

[Oh, great. Jay can see this conversation getting very tiring very quickly. He feels bad for his sorta-kinda-friend and everything but he has no patience for being treated like a hallucination.]

[ He uncaps his pills - the rattle of them might be audible over the feed - and downs a couple. He just wants this to go away as soon as possible. ]

[And that makes Jay choke on whatever he might have been meaning to say next. Literally choke - he actually coughs a little.]

I'm not- obviously I'm not dead, since I'm talking to you.

[He's not going to think about the blood on his shirt, or the conspicuous lack of a wound under it, or the gunshot he can still almost hear ringing in his ears. He's definitely not thinking about any of it.]

[ The cough elicits a small spark of concern, which is completely obliterated a second later when Clearly Not Jay challenges what Tim said. Then the outrage is back. Oh boy! ]

No, I'm pretty sure you're dead. It-- I-- I know my memory isn't great? But finding your body is kinda really stuck in there. I'm gonna be remembering that one for a long time.

[ If he sounds bitter, anguished and borderline tearful? That's because he is. Fuck this. Fuck all of it. Questioning his own reality is bad enough, but having to think about all this stuff on top of that? No. Not okay. Not even remotely okay. ]

[ There's a brief (but marked) flare of audio distortion as he raises his voice. Again, his own anger is overriding his response to Jay's obvious distress. ]

[ N O P E. He rests the tablet on his lap and covers his face with his hands, a muffled "it's not real" faintly audible over the feed. ]
