Neverland. ( why would they go back to the forest? He fought tooth and nail to get out of it, there's not a great deal left in that broken land. she's not making any sense, which makes it a lot harder to follow along. even if he were operating at full capacity, and he's not.

what boy. he puts down the tablet to fish for his rum, which would not make him any warmer, but would hopefully help something. )
Baelfire. But he can't be a boy. ( and he certainly can't be here. which makes him think it's some kind of trick, he just can't prove it.

he isn't looking at the magic glass and his voice sounds fairly far away, like the pirate doesn't even know what to make of it yet. )
I don't know. I was supposed to be in Neverland and I'm here. I don't know if the rest of my crew followed, but so far no word.

Baelfire? No, he can't be a boy. [He goes by 'Neal' now. She doesn't mind the change of name, but it's a little hard to wrap her head around. A boy who would have never grown up in Neverland managing the impossible and getting out, growing up and having a family of his own. When she thinks of how things were for him before the curse reset, she feels worse for him than for anyone else. He always loses his family as soon as he finds them. Why couldn't he have stayed with Henry and Emma this time?

She tries to look through her tablet to see Hook once he sets it down, but all she hears is the familiar sloshing of rum in his flask. This world and it's strange technology, she's still not sure what to make of it.]

But I remember us getting out of Neverland. You don't?

[His crew should be Emma and her family, shouldn't it? Didn't he already experience all of that?]

Right. A man. And a buried one at that. ( which makes the confusing appearance of a boy that only remembers his betrayal seem very impossible to the pirate. seeing Tink, well... he can start to believe she's here, if he lets himself. it's just that he's experienced all sorts of trickery in Neverland — both from its master and from his own mind. perhaps he's sick from cold, lonely and self hating for all the people he left behind. it'd explain seeing them, even if they aren't there. )

No. How can you remember... did we save Henry?

( he barely knows how to wrap his mind around all this, but that's the most important part of that adventure. he'd been hoping to see Tink again, though he didn't suppose she'd be especially happy to see him, but none of it mattered if they didn't save Baelfire's boy. )

Hook, no. Not - [Buried. She's sure there's a gentler way to go through all of this, but in their current situation, not knowing where he is, it seems best to correct that line of thinking. Having the information she does makes it hard to know how much of it she's meant to share, but Hook and Baelfire deserve to know as much of the truth as she can provide for them.] What I mean is, Neal joined us in Neverland.

[How would she know that if she hadn't seen him as an adult? It's still so strange to think that they don't remember the same things - and she's not convinced that it isn't his memory, or the rum. He clings to his flask like nothing else.] And yes, we saved Henry.

[Only to end up having to leave him and Emma in that world. Hopefully they're safe there. Most things would be better than this.]

That's not possible. Swan told me he was gone. ( he likes Emma well enough, he doesn't suspect she'd lie about that. she said he had died and he had no reason not to believe her, and that fact had sent him on a tailspin. left him unable to do the selfish thing when for centuries that was all he had ever known. to try and do right by Neal was centuries late, but worth a try; and yet now he's here, instead.

he wants to be relieved by the idea Henry made it out, that Neal isn't actually gone, but it's a lot to take in at once. instead of a cruel shadow to remind him of his crimes, this one seems like it wants to tell him what he wants to hear. which is not much like Tink, really; he's used to her giving him the truth, ugly and pretty both. )

I wouldn't have forgotten. We just left. ( unless someone stole his memory before he was planted here, but that doesn't make sense. more than the idea that Tink is from the future, because that magic is just as impossible as Baelfire being back from the dead. ) How do you remember things I don't?

If I had an answer, I'd share it. [When it comes to this place, she thinks she knows what he knows. The story of how all of them get to Neverland, and back to Storybrooke seems a bit twisted up. He can't know what he never experienced. For some reason, his memories don't extend as far as hers do. It's as odd as the rest of this place.] I'm sure Emma told you everything she knew. But you know how he is, Hook. He's clever.

[If there was a way to escape death and find his way back to his family, Baelfire would be the one to find it. She may not know much about his current situation, but after all of these years, she'd like to think she still knows his heart. He'd fight for his family like nothing else.] He survived, and we rescued his son. - More the rest of you than me. [If only she had found a way to believe in herself in Neverland.] Unfortunately, when we left Neverland, we brought Pan with us.

Aye, she's fairly clever too. She wouldn't have said it if she thought... ( he trails off, expression contorting as he tries to make sense of what he does know. fact is, Emma never told him that much. just that he was gone. it sounded undefeatable when she put it like that, but when he doesn't know specifics...

it's a lot to take on. all of this is. he is not drunk enough to excuse all this nonsense, but he's trying not to shut down on all of it. )
What of the shadow? It might be here. ( that explains how he saw the face of a boy that should be grown, at least. ) Be careful, Tink, if it's here... ( perhaps Pan is too. ) You said Pan was dead? How are you sure?
trybelieving: (🌿 88)

[personal profile] trybelieving 2015-06-23 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
The shadow's been destroyed. [Even here, he might hear a little pride in her voice. They're dealing with something else here, Hook needs to understand that. As far as she knows, there's no way to tie this to Pan, Felix, or the shadow. From what she knows of the situation, they're all dead.]

You won't believe the truth, but, since you asked - [Pan being the father of the Dark One? She's not sure she believes it herself.] Rumpelstiltskin sacrificed himself to save Storybrooke. He killed Pan and died with him. [For Hook, that might be good news. It's hard to say with him.] They're all gone.

I didn't know that thing could be killed. ( it didn't seem like it, the way it haunted an entire island. magic that he had never seen before and hadn't seen since. Hook has always suspected that Shadow wasn't Pan's, but that just meant it was a whole different level of evil. )

You're right. I don't believe it. ( the Crocodile doing something that risked himself? no, he didn't buy that at all. surely there was a loophole he was intending on exploiting. it'd be different if Tink did not also claim Baelfire was still alive, somehow... killing himself when what he'd fought for, for centuries, was right in front of him?

no, that didn't make sense, and as much as Hook detested Rumpelstiltskin, at least he usually made sense. )

Where are you, Tink? You can place by the sun, can't you? ( he doesn't point out the time they used to spend looking at the stars in Neverland, but if Tink didn't know how before, he definitely showed her enough back then. )
trybelieving: (🌿 76)

[personal profile] trybelieving 2015-06-24 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
Then don't believe it. It doesn't do us any good here. [This isn't Pan's doing, or the Dark One's. He can believe what he wants, but what needs to be more important to them are the things happening in this world, not in any other. She's still not sure what to do about this.]

Does it matter where I am? Shouldn't we be looking for Baelfire? [He takes priority. Now that she knows Hook cares about him more than he tends to let on, he should be a part of that. If Hook's talked to the boy, it shouldn't be too difficult for her to find her own way toward them. He's right, she knows how to find her place. Seems only fair that her place should be with the people she knows.]

Where are you? [More importantly, how close is he to Baelfire?]

( the pirate makes a frustrated noise, but doesn't argue. he doesn't agree that this can't be blamed on Pan or the Crocodile. seems to him that it'd be wise to make people think they were dead just before they cursed a new group of unfortunate souls. he can tell the fairy isn't going to border any argument, though, so he doesn't.

though her suggestion doesn't make much sense. )

It's impossible he's real, Tink. He's a man now. How would he have been turned into a boy?

( is magic capable of that? he isn't sure, but he doesn't think so. )

He wouldn't say where he was. I'm to the north, if I go far enough there's a wall of snow.

Say he is real, Hook. Do you want to be the one who refuses to help him?

[She'd rather try to help a figment of her imagination than fail to help a real child who needs her. If she's going to make mistakes, they should be the kind where she's helping people, not turning her back on them.]

Then I'd say you should start heading east, maybe we can meet from there.

[He won't like it, but - ]

Baelfire not wanting to tell you where he is seems very much like him, doesn't it? I'll see if I can track him down. If my path changes, I'll let you know over this device.

( no, he doesn't. which is why he tried to reach out to the boy, even if he couldn't be sure he was real. it didn't matter, because Baelfire did not reach back. figment of his imagination or not, he can't head toward something if he doesn't know where to go.

Hook looks a little sour because she's right, and he doesn't want to admit it. )

Don't you think if someone were trying to play tricks on our heads, they'd do their utmost to make it realistic?

( though there aren't many that know his relationship with Baelfire, it'd be a hard trick to play, but that's not the point. )

I'll go east in the morning. ( he isn't sure he entirely believes in Tink, either... but on the off chance she's real, if Bae is real, then yes, he will look for them. )

Not necessarily, it might show us what we want to see.

[Yes, Baelfire being young would be a part of that. There's a way loathe how he grew up and to still be proud of the man he became. Tink would know, she's felt that since he joined them in Neverland.

But there was never any giving him back what he lost. Hook is right to be suspicious - though Tink feels she's right to believe, too.]

Let me know if anything changes. And make sure you stay out of trouble.

[They both know how difficult that is for him.]

( if it's a trick of his own making, then he wouldn't be surprised that the picture he got was anything but self serving. his head rarely concocted kind pictures of his past, kept them all frozen at the worst possible moment as if to remind him of all his failures. in that sense, it is easy to think the boy is just a painful figment to remind him of his guilt; especially after just hearing of Baelfire's death.

Hook doesn't know what to make of Tink's claims of the future. Baelfire not being dead, Pan, the crocodile, the shadow, all gone. it's a lot to wrap his head around and he's tried to stomach plenty today, so he's letting it go for now. no doubt the silence of this place will let him dwell on it more.

at her reprimand he manages a weary smirk. gets harder to play the careless pirate when he's so exhausted but he halfheartedly falls into it anyway. )
Darling, I'm looking for you. Suffice to say that trouble will find me either way.

( he can tell its a closing of sorts, and he should probably sleep, so he will let her. he can't entirely decide if she's real, but if she is... ) I know you're better equipped for this than most, but mind yourself anyway. ( they don't know this place like neverland, it's like starting over at square one. is it so wrong to want her to be careful? )
