[Stiles wakes up and it's a good thing the tablet isn't on a table, because otherwise it, along with the beeping, would find itself crashing on the floor. As it is, Stiles' hand that swipes at the table only meets air, and right, so it's not his alarm clock-- and wait, this isn't his house. Or his bed.

Not that that would make much sense, either, because he's pretty damn sure he was at the school and not in a weird room he doesn't recognize at all. It only takes him a few minutes to push himself up (or more like bolt upright and stumble out of the bed and then out of the room) and start to look around the house-- the kitchen and the dining room, small as they are, are also.... snowed-in, okay, that explains why he thought it was a bit cold around here. So not just lack of heating, then.

As soon as he's certain he's entirely alone, and in a place that's not familiar... well, there's not much else to do than pick up the tablet. A network username, huh? Something that's recognizable if there's anyone he knows, here... but something that isn't too obvious. So not Stilinski. ... wait, he's cold. Like, really, freezing cold.

With a quick grin to himself, he types in Chillinski (get it? chilled stilinski? yeah okay maybe it's a stupid pun, but at least nobody's around to judge him) and starts writing a message.]

If we're told to interact politely with "everyone", then I'm gonna go with the assumption there's actually that everyone to talk to. So... if you're part of that everyone, does someone actually know things like, you know, where we are. And what's going on, and why I'm here instead of

[The text cuts off for a moment, because shit, Scott and Malia and Kira are still at the school and dying and he was trying to tell them the way to stop the poison and oh god. Shit, he really, really needs to get back. Now.]

[Looks like he lucked out, at least on the "is this house better than the last house" department-- because his last one was half full of snow, and this one has two stories and a lot more rooms, too.

So he opens the video in front of what seems to be a large fireplace (unlit), at first showing only that, and after a moment his face moves into sight.]

So, anyone managed to find any sort of wood today? Actual logs in any of the houses, or wooden furniture you could break and burn? Because I found a fireplace.

[A pause as Stiles scratches his chin, bites his lower lip. Talking to people you don't know like this is slightly awkward.] Also, any word on anything important yet? As in... who's behind this? Because I am so not buying this whole "oh we just all woke up here" thing. Somebody's lying around here, and I'm not gonna wait around for someone else to find that out.

[How exactly he's going to go about finding that out, though... it's a work in progress??]

( sorry, Stiles, he's too cold to hold up his tablet. he's just left it on the bed and is poking at it idly. so it's more audio than video, since the pirate isn't holding it. there's a great shot of his dark ceiling. he's listening, though, does that help? when he speaks his voice sounds a bit far away, but not hard to hear. )

I've seen some ruined buildings. You might be able to burn parts of them but if you're not nearby it does you no good. ( so many people, this place has to be massive... he doesn't know where to start. and he hates that he doesn't have a fireplace, for the record. )

There's someone behind this, certainly, though I'm not sure who just yet.

( he's always quick to blame Rumpelsitlskin but it's really hard to say in this instance. this curse is rather on the scope of the Dark One, and the only way his Crocodile could cast it would be to have something he loved. he doubts that serpentine heart loves anything other than the son that's already gone.

Hook is, at least, thoughtful enough not to spout diatribes about magic and nonsense. he might be in another world without, he doesn't need to make things more difficult for Storybrooke if he intends to go back there. )

[Wow, great, a video of a dark ceiling, that's helpful. Not. But then there's a voice, and alright, so maybe this is slightly more helpful than he initially thought... though not seeing the speaker makes him immediately suspicious. (Then again, when is he not suspicious? And in a situation like this, it would be stupidity not to be.)]

That would be a better idea if I could, you know, actually go outside to collect those parts. But since this thing is telling us to stay inside and I tried opening the door and it won't, I'm stuck here. With a fireplace with nothing to burn in it.

[But, hey, at least he's not outside freezing, so that's something.] None of us is sure, and if someone is, they're not telling. That's the problem. [He has plenty of people he could be suspicious of, but no one with the magic or power or anything to do something like this... but it's somebody, or several somebodies, doing this. They didn't just suddenly get here for no reason at all, on their own.]

( if Hook had the option, he'd make a fire. despite soggy matches and flint in his coat, though, he really doesn't have that option. burning his shelter down while he's trapped in it? not the best idea and even he knows that. )

Well, whoever's responsible is likely not dying to be found out, it makes a certain amount of sense. ( it also means that it's possible to run into the guilty party and not know it. teenage boys (by the sounds of it) probably aren't on his hit list but Hook knows Peter Pan so maybe not that safe. )

Did you wander much, or just stay inside?

There's plenty of furniture, but I don't have matches, and I can't find any. So, that's a no for the fire.

[He kinda wishes he was in the habit of carrying matches, or a lighter, or some sort of emergency fire kit.]

Yeah, you think? All of us here are probably ready to chloroform them and throw them in a building and light it on fire. [Definitely makes sense that they'd hide their identity... but that doesn't mean you can't find it out, anyway. Even though at this point Stiles is more than half convinced it's got to be more than one person behind this entire thing.

And while the suspicious feeling hasn't left him... whoever this guy is, he doesn't sound like he'd be the one to have brought them here. Maybe.]

A little. I found some rubble, that was really something, and then a building, and then this house I'm in now.

I think I found some, but they're bloody wet. ( so that's not going to help very much. Hook doesn't know if drying the bastards out will make them work, either... they're the oddest little book of them, too, not like the matches he's used to. he's got flint and steel, that just doesn't help when he doesn't have kindling... and, right, it doesn't help this kid, either.

I'll keep it in mind, hoping for a justified bonfire. ( two can play at sarcasm, and even cold and slightly soggy, Hook can sell it very well.

Yeeeeah, I'm not really sure whether that's a good thing or a bad thing. On one hand, I'm not here all cold while someone else is warm, but on the other hand, nobody is warm and I'm also not enough of an asshole to hope that everyone's freezing right now.

[So, no, not really a silver lining. But Stiles gets more serious, too, as the pause and sometimes I think, because, yeah, sometimes he thinks, too. The sounds that aren't explained by anything, footsteps even when he knows it's neither him or Clayton moving (because right now, he at least has the added benefit of knowing there are other people here, even if said people happen to be really weird).

And talking about weird... okay, maybe this guy doesn't exactly look like Stiles thought he would, especially with the guyliner and all-- but he refrains from commenting on it right now, and instead nods.]

Stiles sounds a bloody odd name, but who is Hook to say what is normal or not? they're likely from different worlds, and names from the Land Without Magic are always strange. so he doesn't question it. )

Plenty old enough. ( look, you just don't open conversation with the fact you're old as balls. especially when most people won't believe, anyway. if one doesn't know about magic, they certainly won't believe a pirate can hit three centuries.

it's true that it's bloody difficult to navigate here. the sun is how Hook knows to navigate and it's not even easy to see in all the bluster. ) I'm far north. If you go too far that way you hit a wall, but apparently that's true of more than just the north.

[ Haku mostly ignores the talk of a fireplace - most people seem too spread out anyway to really be able to share these sort of things. But the second question is one that has certainly been on his mind as well, if not just so he doesn't have to think of his own issues too much. And while he isn't really always that open about his own suspicions, it might be good to gather other people's opinions for now. Just to see what people think. ]

You think one of us is the mastermind behind all this?

[Again, just someone's voice talking back to him-- part of him understands it, not wanting to share how you look immediately, protecting your identity and all... but it's also suspicious as hell, so in the video response, his eyes narrow just slightly.]

Someone or something got us here, and if they got us here out of all possible places, they have to be here, too. So that means whoever did it is here, somewhere. [And he's going to do all he can to figure out who that person or those people are.]

I guess, but there's also a lot of possible explanations as to what those who kidnapped us want from us, so it's not exactly like that's a walk in the park to figure out, either.

[Money is the usual thing, but he has the feeling that isn't the case this time. So it could be anything: to do experiments on them, to bring them here to fix this place, to make them fight in a battle royale, to televise this as a popular survival scenario, to re-populate a town that's been destroyed.....]

Uh, hello, it totally matters, because if they are somewhere to be found, then that means we can find them, and catch them, and make them talk. You can't force someone to talk through a network.

Then what are you going to do?
