Amestris. It's my home country. There's a country to the north, though-- Drachma, that might look like this. Norfinbury. Kind of sounds like a Drachman town, come to think of it, but I haven't run into anyone else.

[That would be one explanation for the sudden winter and the fact that he's never heard of the town name and also why there is no one else even here. Then again, people go to Antarctica for research all the time; surely they would have noticed that there is a town on an uninhabitable continent.]
