Not without a great deal of work. It's easily twice as tall as the house I'm using, and as it seems to be made of snow rather than ice I have doubts about its stability.

Stairs or a ladder might be managed eventually, but we'd need people willing to work on it, maybe someone to draw up a plan.

Maybe if we used some of the more run down abandoned housed we might be able to make something.... Though we might just end up somewhere worse or stuck in the middle of a icy wasteland and I'd rather not freeze to death just yet.

It might be an idea if nothing is found in this area we're in, if the wall surrounds us every way.

[If there's one thing Bard can agree on anyone with, it's not wanting to freeze to death. This young lady gets bonus points if they ever manage to get everyone coordinated.]

Aye, it would serve us well to get the lay of the land and an accounting of what's available to us before we tackle the wall. Perhaps there's more information to be found as well, seeing as we've hardly been here a day.

Right, there's more places to search. Houses might not have as much information but if this is a town, or leads to a town then there might be a town hall or maybe a library. Something with information about the surroundings and where we are at least.

Not so much as a mouse or a bird so far, nor even signs of their presence. I take it you haven't, either?

No. And while the place I'm from is pretty ...inhospitable there's still wildlife there.

Where I'm from, there's an area near a mountain completely barren of life. We call it the Desolation of Smaug, for his fires scoured the plants from the earth and no animal would go there, even in flight. I don't think it was ever covered in snow as this place is, but...

More than a day's walk to the mountain itself, and that's if you sail up the river a ways first. Dozens of miles, easily.

And what kind of creature did enough damage that even the animals avoid the area?

The mutated animals yes. Naming them dragons no. But personally I think Deathclaws sound worse then dragons.

"Deathclaws" sounds like something an orc wears because he finds a sword boring, though. When you hear "dragon", you know a great scaly bugger is going to come flying in to destroy everything you love and then steal your gold when he's done.

Probably because they're real in your world. In mine they're only in stories. Deathclaws on the other hand can slash you open with their massive talons and run crazy fast. Because the wasteland thought we weren't dying enough on our own I guess.

What's an orc?

I've heard the first of their kind were elves corrupted by dark powers, but mostly they're just an ugly, evil, brutish sort.

Sounds like supermutants. They were humans that get mutated into these giant creatures that are brutish rage monsters. Well for the most part, my friend Fawkes is a mutant of a mutant and he's actually smarter then most humans.

Elves? ....elves are real in your world? Do you have wizards and fairies as well?

[Not trying to come off as rude more like curious, because she knows she can't throw rocks at peoples worlds making no sense when half the people here think she's crazy.]

They are, and wizards too, though I've only met the one myself. Fairies I think are simply another name for elves, for I only hear about them in stories from travelers who've never seen either.
