Location Buildings 61 and 54 (M11 and I10 respectively).
Date: Days 42 and 43, evenings, probably after lockdown.
Summary: A bunch of people that met in a gas station meet even more people who are sad, and then the next day they get ambushed and realize that this is a Problem. More generally: Catch-all mingle!
Warnings: Discussions of death, unpleasant trolling via House, monsters, all your typical snowhell fare. More specific warnings can go in headers!

Last time I had to rely on just my charm I was able to milk it for free drinks. This is a disappointment. And much colder.

Well, if you find anyone with that wine we were talking about, I've got a corkscrew I'm happy to lend out for a swig. Too bad that gas station was a bust for some beer. I'd even take Bud Lite at this point, and that's basically alcoholic water mixed with piss.

[Dorian had learned as a student to agree with older people who were used to having authority when they disparaged him. He'd learned as an adult to stop putting effort into proving them right.

Talking of finding things... you haven't found a screwdriver lying around anywhere?

[He's finished with 'small talk' as he's not getting a rise out of Dorian. Time to see if there's a way to make him useful. Those vents are still on House's mind as areas for inspection.]

I haven't found much of anything. Some plastic gloves. I'm not sure what a screwdriver would look like.

[If he had something to open up the vents with, Dorian would absolutely do the work on it. He'd grumble but curiosity would win.]

They pay me. I lose it on cards. Then I use the wine cellar on my own initiative. I also place wardrobe orders through their requisition channels. It all works out.

[Not so much for Josephine who was in charge of the wine and requisitions.]

A gambling man, huh? [House perks up.] You know poker? [Not that... they actually have the cards, but if he can find some...]

Wicked Grace mostly. I would be interested in learning poker, should the opportunity arise.

You find a pack of cards and we can get the chicks in on it, we could even do strip poker.

Find some tall, muscular men to carry enough furniture to make a bonfire and play with us and that's sounds like a pleasant evening.

I'm sure we can wrangle a couple of the burly and brawny brigade for your pecs and tight ass-viewing needs. I like your thinking on bonfires, though. I'm not sure we can manage that without actually burning down a house, but I think that's just an excuse to experiment before game day, right? Got any matches, pal?

If I did I'd have sacrificed some cabinetry. It would be so nice to be warm. I guess we'll have to settle for staring at the ceiling and contemplating our own mortality.

Don't be such a necromancer. Mortality's boring, anyway. Let's contemplate that vacation in wine country with the vino and grapes. I'm picturing blue skies, 85 degrees, at least, warm breeze.

Ah, yes. Much better. Near my parents' estate in Qarinus they cultivate Malagousia grapes. It makes a white wine that smells a little like citrus and jasmine.
