[network|audio] @prettypinkflowers; A QUIETER PLACE; Day 405 [open]
So, um, like...
[Ginger clears her throat. It's been awhile since she's posted anything to the Network, so she comes off a bit unsure of herself or how to start. Of course, a good majority of Norfinbury was just in a coma, so she could still be in a weird place from dealing with that whole mess.]
Maybe this is coming out of left field and maybe kind of a weird time to be asking but, like, doesn't it seem like it's been awhile since we've heard from any newcomers?

uh
maybe the newbies are just shy
[ or maybe this is a symptom of something more worrying but tIM LIKES THE SHY THEORY BETTER ]

It would be nice if that was it...I hope that's all! Maybe I should think of something encouraging to say in case they, like, appear, all like, hey! We've been here all along?
no subject
I mean imagine
they're all hiding under the snow or w/e and pop up all at once like "hey did you miss us"
expecting the welcome wagon to be unprepared af
and then there's you like some kinda superhero of welcoming bs
100% unruffled
100% ready
dumping hellos and how are yous on em like this kinda gap is just normal
exquisite tbh
that'll teach the lil scamps
no subject
Well I don't know that I'd be that great but I'd definitely be ready! For...for the little scamps! Yeah!

[It's not like she's ever personally understood how all of this works. Ginger's just kind of passively been accepting it all.]

[Harley doesn't have much of a better idea either, but it sounds right enough.]

[Maybe Eve has little fans that broke...it's hard to imagine anything "overheating" in a place like this, human or not.]

[Or to... copy new people? Ugh. He doesn't like thinking about the implications of this with Miller's nonsense.]
no subject
[She can't help being worried, even though with the way things have been going, it makes the most sense.]
That would be really bad, right? Like, not that it's good to be brought here but if she can't do that anymore she might not be able to revive anyone who gets hurt either, right?
no subject
Well, she's... I mean, she was still reviving people who've been dead for more than 200 days. [But when was the last time that happened? Two weeks ago? More?] Could just be a pause with everything that's been happening. The malware thing?
[No, it couldn't. When have horrible things ever stopped the Admin pulling in more people?]
no subject
[Ginger takes a deep breath, and then takes on a more decisive tone of voice.]
Yeah, like, I'm sure it's totally just that she's taking a break! She gave us warnings when everything else was running low before they ran out, right? So, it would make sense that she'd say something about this!

[He should know this already, of course - the image of Lucita being ripped apart, spliced in two, just at random, is not one he's likely to forget. But if his body is human, has always been just human...]

The last new arrival I have noted on the census was day three hundred sixty-nine.
no subject
[It sounds worse than she thought when he says it like that.]
I just don't know where the time's going. I feel like I can barely keep track anymore.
no subject
[He's not actually being sarcastic. Managing the census keeps him grounded, in a way.]
no subject
That, like, is a super good point. Most of my time I use for sewing but I get so caught up in it sometimes it's like nothing else matters.
[That sweet sweet obsession effect.]

[Better than sitting and counting pills, he thinks. Though he doesn't quite catch that the cause of each is the same.]

The current working theory is that this is related to the increase in long term revivals, which spiked during the last of the new arrivals, perhaps due to a need to divert depleting power.
no subject
Oh, I think I understand. Like, do what you can, and there's only so much she's been able to do lately.
no subject
Or it could be an automated process, where the power is automatically diverted to the most sustainable purpose.
