A repeat of the cultists purge, however that worked last time, seems the most obvious interpretation. However he may be talking about pulling people down to effect repairs to the system again. It could potentially be very useful if residents who were previously involved in those repairs could report their experiences. Top tips for fixing a fake reality as it were.

Honestly? Based on my experiences, it's going to be neither. We've very rarely had a repeat of previous difficulties or incidents. Something is... moving forward, in this town. Always. It'll be something new.

But we can't prepare for new. So we might as well take the precautions we can think about, even if it's mostly just for our own peace of mind.

Agreed. Though peace of mind can hardly be bought in the case of anticipating some new horror on the horizon.

Sometimes I'm honestly surprised we have not all reached a state of... dumb apathy, of sorts. Total resignation to suffering without being able to do a thing about it. I suppose it bodes well that we still worry at all.

That would come eventually, should this keep up. But I highly doubt this town will stay intact long enough for that to happen. I don't think there's very much time left at all.
