cw: mild suicidal ideation

[ Castiel is unfortunately a little too caught up in himself to notice that trying to comfort him is putting Enoch through a crisis of his own. Even if he did, though, he wouldn't know what to say. This is all - wrong, horribly, achingly wrong and has been for months, (centuries, millennia) and shows no signs of stopping. ]

I am not worthy.

[He would hug him if he wasn't worried of injuring him.]

Everyone is, always. You can still obey, when you are certain of God's command. You can still find Him in your own world or go to another, more certain Heaven. Your disobedience was not a failing on your part. But to do either of these things, to answer to the one you were meant to, you need to survive this place.

You mean that. [ It's a statement, not a question, and a slightly awestruck one at that. ]

You think I could find Him. Or that He would take me back, even when my siblings would never.

I - wish I had your faith.

Your siblings would only reject you because you have cause to doubt them. They're used to their orders being considered absolute as indirect command from God, aren't they? But if they aren't receiving orders from Him...

[Enoch pauses, and leans forward to - very carefully - wrap the poor angel up in a hug.]

...I think He would like to know that His subordinates are claiming to issue orders in His name when He did not give them. I know it is not the angelic way to question, but in this case, I think it is valuable to do so. That makes you valuable.
