[Well, gosh! It takes Ginger a moment to think of anything she can say that might be more convincing. It's a high pressure situation--she's afraid that if she says the wrong thing, poor Squalo will stay stuck. Stuck and upset, of course.]

Okay! Um...what I can think of is, like, how this place is able to do things to change how we act or how we feel, so how we see can't be all that much different, right? Like, one time, I stabbed my friend even though that's super totally not me. I wasn't me, just like this place isn't what Miller wants us to believe it is.

[She purses her lips together.]

And, like, there's not really any real way he could get us here and keeps us here on his own, right? So I guess it makes sense that he'd have to make us think we couldn't leave even though he doesn't have the resources to keep us.

[Is any of this making sense? She's not completely sure she knows what she's saying.]

[ It's a nice concern, but rather misguided in this situation. ]

[ He's still feeling a wall behind his back, and he shifts slightly to move away from it, trying to focus on the woman's voice. It's a little irritating, but loud and clear; he can't find traces of the little echo that's supposed to be there. She hasn't lied to him yet; why pick this time of all when she'd been fucked up just as badly as the rest of them? She could be telling the truth. ]

[ And yet that logical voice in his brain insists that you can't feel things that are not there. ]

[The request startles her.]

Okay, I can, like, do that!

[She's purposefully made House mad at her in a somewhat similar situation, so she figures this is about the same...but still. She knew what would make him angry, so this makes her pause.]

Ummm, what makes you angry?

[ oh Ginger you precious soul ]

[ That actually gives Squalo a pause... and irritates him slightly, which is probably reflected in his voice - he's not being hostile toward the woman, but he certainly sounds more tense now. ]

I don't know. Lots of things. Insult my skills or my family or my fish, what the fuck ever.
