[His face lights up. That would explain the barriers, too, why people behaved so differently in what they saw and where they could pass through!
It doesn't make his own predicament any less difficult to deal with, however. His mind is pretty much who he is and not being able to rely on it is terrifying, though at the moment frustration gets the upper hand.]
Alright, so I know it's not real. Why can I still not move? Whatever they've given us might not have worn off yet but I don't feel impaired, rather lucid, actually, so theoretically it should be possible for me to break through the illusion...
[It's not like he's overthinking this or anything.]

[ He's the smart one here; she's the brawn of the operation, but sometimes, she feels like she needs to at least attempt to contribute something to the brain part of things.
Even if her contribution is mostly talking out loud and hoping her theorizing makes sense. ]
Because I think that your brain still believes you to be restrained. There has to be something I can do to convince it otherwise.
[ She's overthinking it too, don't worry. ]
It took me walking through what appeared to be a wall to you to get you to realize that was false, so what would I have to do to break the illusion entirely?
[ If something relatively shocking did the trick, maybe it's the opposite now? Something mild, as opposed to shocking? ]
Do you think doing the opposite of what I did the first time would help?
no subject
[Really, he's willing to try anything at this point. Well, almost anything. He'd rather not get dragged against the collar again. If he never has to feel metal against his throat in any form ever again he would very much appreciate that.
Not that it's very likely, given his line of work, but a man can dream.]
Maybe if you... hm. If you put your hands on the collar which is apparently not there?
no subject
[ She moves in closer and bends down a little so that they're level, and then she places her hands on both sides of his neck, lightly touching the collar. ]
Anything?
no subject
It's a little overwhelming and he thinks he's gonna cry (this time of joy) so he closes his eyes, trying not to think, trying to focus on her hands on his skin instead. It's a little hard to speak.]
I... think I feel that.
[He moves, involuntarily and past the collar, his forehead coming to rest against hers.]
Hi.
no subject
So when his admission comes, she lets out a sigh of relief. ]
Great.
[ She smiles when he rests his forehead against hers. If only they could be this close all the time. ]
Hello.
no subject
He brings his hand up to come to rest on her back and...
... and he just totally stepped out of the fake restraints, didn't he.
Flynn's nose curls but he doesn't open his eyes, savoring the moment despite the slight color rising in his face.]
I guess that worked?
no subject
I guess that it did.
[ She wishes they had more time, more hours in the day, because really, what she wants more than anything else is to just have a day when it's just them and nothing else. No puzzles to solve, no danger to run from- it's just a fantasy, but it's one she wishes they could have. ]
I knew you'd eventually come around. No enchantment or mind trick can stop you.
no subject
[He likes taking the credit but he's also capable of giving it where it is due. And after spending several days in this absolute torture hell? It's more than due.]
Guess they can't. Not when I have my Guardian.
[He's just lingering close to her, his hand combing through her hair, savoring another moment.]
I missed you.
no subject
[ She leans in so she can brush her lips lightly against his cheek. ]
And I missed you.
[ And with that being said, she's putting her arms around him and dragging him carefully down to the floor for a second, more passionate kiss. No one's watching this, right?
... Right. ]
no subject
Flynn doesn't care, allowing her to pull him along and eagerly returning the kiss, all the stress and fear seeking a different, a better outlet and really, he just needs this moment to not end yet.
Or ever.]
no subject
Still, they have to come up for air sometime, and when that time comes, Nicole is more than a little bit reluctant to pull away and break their connection. Still, they can't keep kissing until they run out of air, so pull away she does. ]
I have to say, you are quite the kisser, Flynn Carsen.
[ She knows her words have a good chance of completely flustering him or bolstering his confidence. She hopes that the end result is a good mix of both things, because as much as she enjoys flustering him, she enjoys encouraging him more. ]
no subject
Why thank you. You're not so bad yourself, Miss Noone.
[His eyes are gleaming with mischief, looking a lot more alive than moments ago.]
Though they do say practice makes perfect...
no subject
I do try. I do have to keep up with you, you know.
[ Because of course he's such a lady-killer. She can't resist teasing him even now. ]
Would you like to go again?
no subject
[There's a time for getting flustered and there is promise of more kissing. Granted, Flynn is an expert at combining the two but the latter will always take precedence, so encouraged he leans in for another kiss.]
no subject
[ But enough talking. She wants more kissing, and she's very good at getting what she wants. It's what he wants too, from the way he's leaning in for another round, so she's quick to oblige, wrapping her arms around him and deepening the kiss. ]
no subject
Thanks for saving me.
no subject
No need to thank me. It's what we do for each other.
[ And she knows it's true; they've both saved each other several times since their first meeting. ]
no subject
I would fight the entire town to save you.
Granted, I wouldn't get very far.
But there would be lots of swinging heavy objects at people's faces.
... Medium heavy.
no subject
The entire town?
I'd like to see that. I'm sure you'd handle yourself admirably.
[ Hey, she saw him best Wilde. The entire town might be pushing the odds a bit, but he'd hold his own long enough for her to get out and join him. ]
no subject
[Which would probably involve a lot of flailing and screaming but details.]
... But, you know, I wouldn't mind getting out of here before they actually decide to show up and I have to deliver.
no subject
[ She smiles, and barely manages to hold back a laugh. Laughing at him now when he's trying to be gallant would be quite impolite. ]
Shall we go, then?
no subject
Right behind you.
