Too much variation. My list didn't match anyone else's list that I talked to...and he can't have given you anisomycin without something to counteract the side effects. It's toxic to humans.

I don't remember anything from the pit past being pushed in.

You're working on the assumption that the bodies we inhabit are human. [ The comment was a statement, more than a question and soft spoken. He wasn't trying to be combative. Truth was, Stephen was more than likely correct and they just would never know what else was in the syringes.

As for the pit experiences, that seemed to be a dead end. Will exhaled softly and reached back to rub his hand at the back of his neck, which was a mistake he realized too late. Hissing as his bandage mitted hand connected with his skull, Will quickly dropped the hand, cradling it against the opposite forearm. ]

Sounds like we have a medical dead end for the time being.

[Stephen's gaze starts to drift again--Will's right, even the most basic assumptions are too much to rely on. He snaps back to attention at the hiss of pain.]

Can I look at those for you?

[Not that he has anything with which to treat the injuries.]

[ Will looked at his hands, then up to Stephen's face and he gave the doctor a weak, half smile. ]

They're not particularly attractive at the moment. Somewhere along the line last night, my glasses were broken.

The pieces of the lenses were returned to me via driving them under my fingernails.

...Ah.

Would it be insensitive to say I've seen worse? Tell me the glass at least got pulled back out.

I've suffered worse. [ Will said, with a wry and upward twitch of his mouth.

Glancing down at his bandaged hands, he gave a slow nod of his head. ]

It's hard to tell given the damage, but it's all a uniform stabbing pain, rather than anything localized. That would suggest the glass has been removed.

[ He paused and gave a small shrug. ]

At least I think.

Your first clue's going to be in whether there's any stabbing pain when you move them.

[That's not even his medical opinion; that's just common sense.]

Let me help.

There is actually a great deal of stabbing pain. [ Will remarked in a tone that suggested he was not unfamiliar with having to function through pain.

However, he stepped forward and offered one of his hands towards Stephen. House had already examined the right, so Stephen was offered the left. ]

I don't question your abilities, doctor, only our available supplies.

[ Strange would understand when he unwrapped the bandage. The fingers underneath were in bad shape. Some the nails are missing completely, others the nails or split, the sign of trauma runs all the way along the fingers to the knuckles of his hand.

However, there is no evidence of any remaining shards of glass. Only the brutality of suffering through having those shards driven as deep as the middle and proximal phalanx. ]

[He probably should question Stephen's abilities. He's as gentle as he can be, but his hands tremble as he unwraps the bandage and he isn't able to hold steady enough to prevent the pain he'll inadvertently cause with the movement. His gaze is sharper than it has been, though, as he looks over each injury. There's tightness in his jaw; though the source of the injuries is far different, it's more familiar to look upon than he'd like. Still, his thought process clicks over into something clinical as he looks for glass and assesses what he can do for Will.

Jack shit, that's what. Stephen blows out a breath and carefully starts reapplying the bandages.]

You're right. If we...when we get out I can at least get you something for the pain, but....

[He shakes his head.]

The glass has been removed, we know that at least.

[ Throughout the examination, Will is stoic even in the face of Stephen's less than steady hands. ]

I wouldn't say no to another round of prescription strength Ibuprofen. I've been taking it to help off set generalized pain that developed over the months here.

[ Or in other words, exposure effects. ]

Yeah. Yeah, that's doable.

[Supplies are low, but like hell would Stephen withhold his help for this kind of pain. And there's always his own supply....]
