[That still leaves Tadashi hanging. There are so many people here he doesn't know now. He needs to make up for it fast. The more time he spends on his feet, the more he's able to begin pushing the anxiety away. This might not be his element, but he knows there must be a way he can help.]
Tadashi Hamada. I'm a robotics student.

[Alfie tries to move himself into more of a seated position, but winces at the strain in his limbs and the ache of his head.]
Solomons. Alfie. Not much for robotics, myself, but I've learned about 'em here. Just a bit.
no subject
Do you need help, Mr. Solomons?
[It might seem ridiculous, considering the state Tadashi is in. All things considered, though, he's better off than a lot of the others. At least he can walk, even if he feels like he might fall down if he pushes his luck.]
My major was robotics, but I specialized in medicine. I'm not as good as an actual doctor, but I'll do what I can.

[His tone manages to have hint of derisiveness while still not being truly nasty. He doesn't wave off Tadeshi, at least, or give any indication that he shouldn't come closer.]
What's the use of a doctor who doesn't doctor himself, eh? Look at you.
no subject
I haven't had a chance. That bad, huh?
[After another moment of hesitation, he steps into the cell and kneels down, offering his good hand if Alfie needs help changing his position again.]
I think someone else beat me to it. I could use a sling for my arm, but otherwise...
[Just a lot of pain that he's willing to work through.]

[He mutters as Tadeshi comes into the cell - there are several spots of dried, crusty vomit on the floor. Lovely.
He doesn't resist the help, though, and together they get him into a semi-seated position with minimal amounts of pained groaning from Alfie.]
Rip up your sleeves. That'll make a sling.

[Tadashi fingers one of the buttons on his blazer for a moment before starting to shrug out of it with a pained grimace as his shoulder protests. Following Alfie's advice, he steps on the fabric, then jerks on it with his good hand, ripping a strip free that he can then use to tie the entire thing into something passable for a sling. It's easier than it would have been normally -- there are already some fairly definitive rips from the night prior.
Once he shrugs the sling on and gingerly rests his arm in it, he turns his attention back to the more pressing patient.]
That's one of us stabilized. What can I get you? If you were sick, you're going to be dehydrated.
no subject
[From his tone, he clearly doesn't really believe he does... but he wouldn't turn it down if he did.]
no subject
[Once again shakily on his feet, Tadashi vanishes back into the rest of the cell block. He returns not long after, a baseball cap clutched tightly in one hand.]
I think this should work.
[And with that he disappears in the bathroom. There's the sound of running water, then Tadashi is back again, grinning despite the circumstances as he offers the dripping, half-full baseball cap to Alfie.]
It's not the best, but it's what I've got.
no subject
But hell, it's water, and Alfie's already thrown up his breakfast and hasn't had the energy to make it into the bathroom to drink or freshen up. He doesn't hesitate to take that gross hate and drink from it.]
Thanks, mate. Lucky you were allowed your own clothes.
no subject
[ It doesn't feel like luck. Tadashi reaches up to gently prod at his bruised neck. He still hasn't had a chance to search for his shoes. They're probably still in a corner of his own cell.]
Hey, has anything like this happened before? I'm torn about trying to move any of you, but I feel like I should be trying to get everybody out.
[ Said like he's not just as stuck here himself with his own injuries. It's easier to deal with everything that way. ]
no subject
You're not gonna be able to get us anywhere, mate.
no subject
Bio-encoded forcefield?
[He doesn't really expect an answer from Alfie -- it's directed more toward himself, tinged with disbelief.]
Why are they doing this?
no subject
If I hadn't seen your name on the walls, I'd've asked if you were new, mate. That's not a question I'd expect from a veteran of Norfinbury. Were things different in your day?
no subject
[After a moment of hesitation, Tadashi cards his hand back through his hair, leaving it in more disarray than it started.]
Back in the beginning, I guess we didn't know much of anything. Starving to death was one of the major concerns. No maps to speak of. It seemed a little more man against nature than man against malevolent intelligence.

[Especially now that it’s absolutely a long-term situation.]
Any pointers for the way things are now?
no subject
[He flutters hand weakly in the air, indicating the cell around him.]
Last time, I was on-- well, no, I wasn't on your side of things. I never found myself down here. I just watched it from the other end, over the network.
