Technically he's a mandated reporter and he has some idea how to recognize the signs, but it's not like he's worked with kids with any regularity, and this really isn't his area. Worse, he's keenly aware that having this kind of insight into the adult House's past is going to come across as a kind of violation.]

[Why is he still talking to him. House is growing more anxious by the moment; though, he does his best to lock that down behind a mask of indifference. House hasn't quite perfected it to the level he has as an adult, though. He swallows and nods sharply.

He hears an implied 'yet' in that comment and doesn't want to make it worse somehow. Better to just stay silent and wait for the other man to leave the room. House decides it might be best to go and find Flynn or Rhys to sit with for a long while.]
