"No, no," Sylar said, mildly annoyed. Mycroft wasn't getting it. "To help us. To get us out of here. Who'd want to stay in this place?" ...wherever that was.
holmesice: (You don't need to know about that)

"Help us...get out of here."

He was talking like an imbicle again, but it was just so difficult to get his thoughts in order.

"That's too dangerous, Sherlock can't be a part of that," he said dismissively. "I'm not going to endure losing him again."

Ugh. They were talking in circles. And it could've easily happened before, considering how Sylar's head swam. He shook his head, but that just made him more dizzy.

"He'll be all right," Sylar insisted, as if emphasizing the words would be convincing. "At least you have someone that would help." He did too, but it was easy to forget when he'd spent his entire life feeling alone.

"Wait, when did you lose him?" The question escapes him almost before he notices it. It didn't make sense to him.

That was true, but he didn't want to have someone to help. Sherlock couldn't help, it was not allowed. Horrible things awaited. Though he wasn't quite sure what those were.

"When did I lose him?"

A few seconds of silence while Mycroft tried to remember that, too. Did he misplace Sherlock or...?

Ah.

"I meant he died...twice, I think, before...before here." Wherever they were now. "He can't keep dying, he might not come back, obviously."

It wasn't something entirely understood. He'd never really had a brother, certainly not someone he cared about that much. But he could see why it'd be a sensitive topic. He tried to think of a different way to approach it.

"Obviously. I hope he doesn't come either, then."

He was quiet for a moment, contemplating their situation- or trying to. It was really difficult when he didn't know what the situation was, exactly. "We're getting confused. Someone drugged us." He didn't remember that, but it must've happened. Probably some pretty heavy stuff, if it hit him this hard.
holmesice: (Unhappy.)

There wasn't much else to do but agree with that. A slight hum of acknowledgement when Sylar grew quiet, as Mycroft tried to desperately hold onto the lagging and fading coherency in his thoughts.

"I...yes, you're right, we must have. It's bloody difficult to think." This was appalling, now that he realized what was happening. His precious intellect... "How dare they...?"

"I'm...supposed to talk, I think. That's supposed to help." He shook his head, trying to clear it. "That doesn't make any sense, but Royce told me that. I trust him."

He might not have said that out loud if he knew Royce was literally a couple cells down, but he only remembers talking to him over the tablets. He reached into the dark, quiet place his mind was becoming and tried desperately to find a topic to talk about. "Why do you think they did this?" What do they want?"

Talking? Talking doesn't help, that's how they got you, musn't tell them anything.

"Information. Don't talk, don't tell them anything. It's always information."

No wait, that wasn't right. They didn't ask any questions.

"Don't know what they want," he sighed. "Something about...us being sick, making us better."
termineur: (Noticed a threat)

[personal profile] termineur 2017-07-31 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hmmm," he said, thinking hard about this. He didn't remember hearing that before, but clearly there's something extremely wrong. "Maybe we are sick. Maybe that's what's messing with our heads. This could be a makeshift quarantine."

The bars didn't seem to suggest that, though. "Or maybe we did something while we were sick. Do you remember what happened before we were here?" He's fairly sure there should be something, but it's just...gone.
holmesice: (Looking down at)

[personal profile] holmesice 2017-07-31 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Perhaps." That was a worrisome thought. Maybe they were violent in whatever illness they possessed.

"I..."

It was gone, too. That wasn't right, he had an excellent memory, but it was just...not there. It frightened and baffled him.

"No, I can't...it's not supposed to be this way," he was sure of it...or was he? "At least, I don't think. Unless there was nothing before." Maybe he'd just imagined it...?
termineur: (Got an idea)

[personal profile] termineur 2017-07-31 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, there was something before..." He was pretty sure of that, at least for now. "There's supposed to be a change. A change for us to get better. If there was nothing, we wouldn't have to change. Right?"

He sounded less certain of himself as he continued, but he didn't know what to think if they had just been here. Were they created flawed like this?
holmesice: (Thinking.)

[personal profile] holmesice 2017-08-01 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
That sounded logical, but it felt wrong, it felt like this was all they had known, and this was all there was.

Mycroft was still baffled. He didn't like the feeling of it, he knew that much.

"Maybe not, maybe this is how things are supposed to be?" That felt more accurate. "Maybe everyone starts out like this."
termineur: (Accessing)

[personal profile] termineur 2017-08-01 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
That could be the case, easily. He didn't have any evidence saying it wasn't, just this feeling that there should be more.

So he nodded. "Maybe you're right. This is the beginning, then. Where we start. I'm glad they'll fix us, then." He hoped it wouldn't take too long.

[personal profile] holmesice 2017-08-01 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
That somehow felt right, even though there was something worrying about it.

"I hope it's not too complicated to fix us," Mycroft said, maybe that's what he was worried about. "There's someone I'm...supposed to find, after. Or maybe not, maybe I'm not supposed to find him?"

He was quite confused. There was someone, very important, but he couldn't quite remember who they were.

That bothered him greatly.
