Uh, hey everyone.

[Someone sounds sort of sheepish, mostly to hide the distress that comes from being on the receiving end of being revived.]

I wish I could say that I'd died doing something really worthwhile to help out, but I didn't, it was an anomaly. But I'm-- I'm okay now, I can't even figure out what I've lost. I've tried thinking through all my life but none of my memories seem to be gone, and I've still got all my senses, and I still look like me. I'm kind of scared that there isn't a cost, that would mean they're getting more powerful. Maybe they even have a bigger stone? Maybe they've sacrificed more people?!

[There's a brief pause, and then a more subdued voice continues.]

Okay, so-- maybe I figured it out after all, please forget what I said then. I didn't mean to talk about it so publicly where anyone could hear, especially not when the Admin really might be using philosopher's stones to resurrect people!

I mean... I don't think I can lie, and it's like I'm just speaking without getting to think about it first, which is really awkward! What if I end up having a conversation with someone and I don't want to say something to them, and it comes out anyway? What if I tell Steph that I think she's really pretty? OH! Oh no...

Granny's apple pie, and the quiche Mom used to make. Winry got the recipe for apple pie from Mrs. Hughes and said she'd make me one as soon as I got my body back, and I can hardly wait! Really, just to be able to taste anything would be amazing.

I guess we could cook something fresh over a campfire, but we don't really have the ingredients for it. I never seem to find anything that perishable, and definitely no butter and things like that. I might not know how to make a pie very well myself, but even I know you need butter and eggs.

[Cooking fresh things doesn't seem like part of the Norfinbury experience.]

I think I'm kind of glad that we can't do that here. It would hurt a lot to eat an apple pie and be able to eat it, but not be able to taste it.

[He could talk about the things in the grocery store downtown. Someone might be able to make something if they took from there, if they just had the right vessels to put it all together and bake it. Apples, cinnamon, sugar, everything else beyond what he'd know. But when Al can't taste it all...]

[He remembers how glad he'd been to taste orange juice, that one time. He lets his focus fall the natural way, even if it makes for a transparent dodge. Better than something depressing. Take another distraction from the condition he's in.]

[Still, it takes him a moment to type. He's been passingly sore for over a week now, and the stitches holding his current form together aren't comfortable. Breathe, come on, type.]

even made a piece of music out of the sounds i could get from tapping the cartons or the shells or whatever other noises you can get from bumping eggs on things

technically its not finished yet but ive been kinda sad about them since they got smashed

I mean-- sorry, I do think that it's weird, though. Why would you want to make eggs and carry them around with you? Didn't you even try and eat the eggs instead of naming them and then making music on them?

Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't realise it was MN poisoning. It's good that it's collecting eggs rather than being in pain, though I wish you didn't have to have any poisoning at all. It's so weird that I've never had any MN poisoning, but I've been here since the first day, what do you think that means?

[Rather than being in pain? He's got pain, aches and soreness laid in from a secondary effect even before his skin started splitting earlier today. Even with the stitches holding the splits closed, it still hurts, still pulls, and isn't it just so fucking funny all of a sudden that Al has none of it, none of it at all, to deal with?]

Yeah, I guess I am lucky. I want to be able to help everyone else, especially now that we know blood transfusions help for a while, but Dr. Watson won't let me be a donor.

[Why isn't he laughing? Doesn't he get it? He's talking about blood transfusions, and honestly who cares about...]

[Davesprite blinks, his mind catches up, and the sick twist of how he just slipped has his hands shaking. It takes a long moment before he can get the words out without typos.]
