"That's not good enough - " Beckett speaks out loud before he can think about it. He reels a little at the eruption - mentally for the most part, but physically too, just a touch - and shakes his head hard. No. He's not leaving this time...

And he keeps talking. Forget the light. "Whatever this is, you're still you in there - my friend. The last time I left a friend to come apart - " he swallows. There is it. Truth will out - "I've never made a worse decision. No. Let's - let's test this. See what we can understand of it. These are answers, aren't they? They're worth my life."

He shakes his head. "No. I don't want yours--your light. You need to keep it. But I don't know if I can control. I need it."

Right now Beckett was out of reach and that made it easier, but if he got closer he's not sure. Or if simply being with the other, near his light, would make it too intoxicating, too much to resist.

Beckett takes conscious care to stay out of reach, understanding - at least in a general way - the sense of the situation. Well, if he understands, perhaps he can suggest...

"You can tame the need. The key is to understanding that it is not you - in you, perhaps, but not of you. Isolate it and separate yourself from it, and it would become less urgent... if it's anything like the cravings I'm familiar with."

He just looks at Beckett. Its hard to express anything with empty orbs for eyes and no mouth, but Beckett might get the idea that he'd be linefacing.

"I'm not good at taming things within myself."

Well, he has gotten reasonably good at reading Brian through masks or text. He can do this, surely...

"Then focus on something else. On this. On what is happening - what it feels like - to any extent you can say. Give me information." An urge and a plea. Brian must understand the request. If he is himself then he knows what it means.

"It feels like...my light is gone. Someone took it. I need one. Any one. All of them. I need it. I can take them, it has to help. It will help. I need light."

His speech grows less lucid as he continues and twitches, grip tightening on his tablet. There is a light right there. Its so hard to resist...he's not even entirely sure why he wants to.
