*Part of him thinks this prey looks familiar. For a moment he wonders if that means Jim should be left alone...but it passes quickly as he instead decides to use what he knows to his advantage. Not that he really remembers much at the moment.

He sticks to the usual stalking method, silently following for awhile before speeding up to close the distance. Not enough to reach the other yet, but enough that he could be seen if Jim just looked behind him.*

[ Jim knows something's there now. Brian's too close for him not to realize. His back is tense and he's walking a little faster, but he doesn't turn around. Instead he jerks to the side, taking a detour through one of the the esherverse's twists in space until he's walking sideways - upside down - behind whatever that awful thing is.

His mistake - if there were anything he could do to save himself in the first place - is being too curious. He freezes to try to discern what he's looking at. Something about it seems so familiar... ]

*The creature follows quietly, never getting closer until Jim freezes. Then he simply isn't there at all.

But boy is something cold right behind Jim.*

[ Jim lets out a shout that's really more of a scream as he whirls around, instinctively trying to push away from whatever's close. ]

*The creature is there, right behind Jim. Its currently out of reach, but moving quickly to close that distance.*

[ Unfortunately for Jim, the wild swing and miss makes him overbalance. He wobbles, takes half a step back, and trip over an unseen bump that has him falling on his back. He tries to scramble away, but it may already be too late - ]

*He pounces as Jim stumbles, arms out stretched and mouth opening to a yawning void. As soon as he's on his prey its over. The light is his and the body is of no consequence.*
