[They do squeak a bit in surprise when they're grabbed, but it's not an unfriendly touch. Not like one of the other red lights, the ones they had to stay away from. A glance up and back confirms the glow from behind them is blue.

There's something else though. Something in how she's talking to them that leaves them feeling like there's a funny knot in their stomach. It's different from Toriel, but similar enough.]

Y-yeah. I remember.

[Frozen rivers don't sound good though, and they do take a step or two back, one arm drifting backwards to hopefully avoid bumping her too much. At least to know where she is as they move.]

[The arm that drifts backwards meets her hand, and Mary gently holds Frisk's wrist and guides them backwards until they are a safe distance from the ledge of the riverbed. Here, she releases one arm and slips her other hand to Frisk's shoulder, her fingers just slightly gripping them protectively.]

Are you all right? You're all alone.

[A moment later and her mothering instinct kicks in full-force, and Mary is on her knees before the child, both hands on Frisk's shoulders and her face close to theirs.] Nothing hurt?
despiteeverything: (okay... sounds fake but okay)

Woke up like that.

[It's okay though? They know how to get around on their own. Mostly.

Well, maybe right now it's a little tricky. And it's why - though they aren't hurt at all, at least nothing besides the usual bumps and scrapes from Norfinbury travel - they do have something important they should. Probably mention?]

Can't see, though. 'cept um... lights. And things.
