[network] @ASolomons; audio, evening of 205 [open]

A couple of nights ago, Charles brought up a very good point. I'm sure you've all seen it by now. And I think that even if no one but the explorers is taking the food and supplies left, he's shed some light on an important issue to consider for the future.

[There's a creak of a chair as he adjusts, still struggling to get comfortable with his broken ribs.]

So what I'm suggesting here, right, is a system of accountability. Those of us who are leaving supplies will leave our contact information - names and usernames, with a request to give us a ring when supplies are taken. And that, yeah, that'll serve two purposes. One, it'll let us know when a supply point is running low and needs to be restocked. And two, if many things are disappearing without any messages to us, it'll let us know that something might be going on that needs to be looked into.

I, for one, would very much like to know if the supplies meant for the explorers are being misappropriated.

[He gives a significant pause here, wanting that to sink in. It's no coincidence that this is coming right on the heels of House's post about him. If anyone who isn't exploring new areas is taking food and supplies that are being left, he wants them to know that he specifically is paying attention.]

Now - it's true that things aren't very centralized here. Yeah, there hasn't been much communication. And therefore, I think that most of us are gonna be understanding towards those that might have taken things out of ignorance - not knowing that they were meant only for people traveling into unexplored areas, where useful tools might be especially needed and town-provided food might be hard to get to. But I would hope that now that this has been made clear by both Charles and myself, you'll all keep this in mind for the future - and, of course, return any supplies you might have taken that haven't already been used up.

Thank you.

[He cuts the feed.]

[It piques the curiosity, but he's not about to pry when he doesn't want the same done to him. Considering how many people were injured a few days ago, it's not exactly surprising to hear, anyway.]

Either myself or Yvry would work, wherever he's roaming right now. I have enough to carry close to two weeks of rations at a time.

There's still no word on if anything's being done from the eastern half of the tunnels, either. We have a point of food to work from now, even if it's a small one. Filtering the crowds out of the tunnels would be ideal, but I'd rather not just leave it to chance if it's still as crowded in there as before. [He'd rather not see people starve out of pure stupidity, even if they probably deserved it.]

I wouldn't call our current point nutritious either. Food is food until we find something better.

I'd rather it not be a main point either, but it's still there, and it's better than the dead end we've had so far. Unless the cons of reaching it outweigh the pros, I don't see why it needs to be dropped from the matter.

[He stays quiet for a moment, only because "keeping men alive and moving in general" strikes a more urgent chord with him than keeping them "strong". But it doesn't change Alfie's point - that the store outside the Pass had a better range to choose from.]

If it fills the ration bags while waiting for something better, then it's still an option. ["Last resort" made it sound more finite than it had to be. Like damn cannibalism.] If it could be a point to fill in the gaps, so to speak - leave it for those predominantly out of the tunnels or stocked adequately otherwise, and leave the bulk of what's being brought in for those that are either low or out entirely. See if there's a balance to be struck there.

I'm listening just fine. [It's snapped in his more familiar flavors of annoyance, but he reels himself in with a firm exhale, his tone evening out surprisingly fast.]

I know that you weren't implying that - that wasn't my intention. Assuming we're on the same page without voicing train of thought means possible mistakes that I'd rather avoid. That's all. Force of habit.

Yes. This isn't much different of a scenario than where I'm from, outside the colder weather and the "technology". [Computers are hard and he hates them. Except for when they actually make his life oddly easier. He'll keep that part.]

I'll take a look. Give me a few more days to get over there and I'll see where things stand by then.

[It takes him a second to respond, trying to add a filter only to realize that one has already been put up. It's oddly relieving.]

It's enough of one. Navigating a space like the tunnels is going to be difficult until it wears off, but I have time.

[Good. He doesn't feel like talking about it.]

That's what I'm hoping. In either case, I'm not going to try to touch base with the lot of you until I can move forward. No need to waste either of our time otherwise.
