Summary: Find friends. Get lost. Don't look.

While confusingly similar, the area is split into a few different sections:

The Core
The hallways here are narrow and twist at a rapid rate. With how dazzlingly white everything is, it's easy to not realize you're coming on a turn and slam right into the walls. There are no rooms here--no one starts here, though they may find it while they wander. At the center is a large, round area, like the center of a spiral. There's a lot of air pressure here.

The Inner Hallways
The largest area, filled with dead ends, gentle slopes and twists, and, occasionally, difficult-to-see drops where a higher hallway intersects with a lower one without a wall to separate them. The whole place tastes vaguely like blood. Most rooms are here--most people start here.

The Outer Hallways
The outer ring of the ball of yarn. It's not as thick with halls and twists as the other two areas, leading to a lot more boring walking in one direction. It's totally possible to circle around the same path multiple times without realizing it, as everything is so similar here. Occasionally, footsteps can be heard just outside the farthest walls. Sometimes, something breathes. There are a few rooms here--some people will start here.

Remember to note what kind of eyes your character has in their top level!

I was writing. I wanted to see if the walls would respond to symbols we knew. And maybe make a way out.

You're an idiot.

[Just saying.]

Don't hurt yourself again, or I'll punch you. You're worth more to everyone in full health, okay?

Not really. I think I'm useful as long as I'm in mostly good health. If it isn't too serious, the exact amount doesn't matter.

[Tony shrugs and keeps walking.]

If I can do something that will help others, I'm going to do it. I'm not planning on dying.

I just want you to understand that hurting yourself isn't the answer. People care about you, they don't want to see you hurt.

No one wants to see anyone hurt. But to get out of here, someone is bound to at some point. We can't really help that.

And if it meant getting out of here? [Wouldn't that be worth it?]

[He's silent for a moment, before he shakes his head.]

Maybe people will get hurt getting out of here, but I refuse to accept that it's necessary or an option that should be explored. We have to focus on keeping everyone safe, we can't aim any lower than that.

That is what I'm aiming for, Alphonse. That is always what I'm aiming for.

[It's his job to go in first. Even if he's not a soldier or an Avenger at this point, his duty is to protect at all costs. And that's a job Tony takes seriously.]

I don't know that it's possible to get out of here without some injury. We have to give if we want to make progress. I'm not going to just let people get hurt, don't worry. I'm being careful.

No, you're not.

[He could not sound more incredulous.]

You just told me how you hurt yourself to write something, that's not being careful at all.

I am. It's not serious. I promise.

[It's the same as an injury gained by trying to pry a door open with a crowbar. He took a shot and failed, that's all.]

Why are you so worried?

Because it's idiots like you that make a small sacrifice and then keep building up, never thinking of their own safety. Never remembering that you're important to people for reasons beyond letting yourself get hurt.

[Tony stops walking, turning to look at Al. That last bit sounded far more serious, and he thinks it's probably best to address this before they continue.]

Are you sure I'm the one you want to be telling that to?

[His answer is soft, but steady.]

That sounds like experience. Hard experience.

[His jaw firms, but he shakes his head.]

It's what I'm telling you, so don't forget it.

I understand that you're talking to me. It just doesn't sound like something that is meant for me.

Well, it is.

[Abrupt, but firm.]

[Yeah. That's an answer.]

Do you want to talk about it?

No. I just want people to stop getting hurt.

[Okay, maybe that was a yes, after all.]

Yeah. Me too.

[He doesn't start walking again.]

I want everyone to stop hurting in general. I used to be able to just fix things.

Me too.

[He does start walking again, it's easier.]

Not easily, not all the time, but-- some of the time. Enough.

And now enough seems a lot more difficult.

But, you know, it's still there. A little out of reach, maybe, but it's still there.

Then you need to focus on that too and take better care of yourself, promise me?

This is focusing on that. [He holds up his hand.] This isn't fatal. It's not even serious. And it's a way of working, moving toward a solution.

You don't have to worry about me. I know you want to help everyone survive this place. So do I. And if we're talking about caring for ourselves, maybe you could stop running after actual dangers all the time.

[He huffs in frustration, furrow appearing at his brow.]

I don't run after actual dangers, that's not fair!

[Tony gives Al a skeptical raise on his eyebrow.]

The Joker?

Don't you think he needed to be contained?

That's missing the point. And I know you're smarter than that.
