[log] Event: Lavender's Green, Part Two [open]
Characters: everyone
Location: mysterious, white hallways
Date: Day 193-194
Summary: Find friends. Get lost. Don't look.
Warnings: Potential for gore and psychological horror. Please note any specific warnings in your subject lines!
While confusingly similar, the area is split into a few different sections:
The Core
The hallways here are narrow and twist at a rapid rate. With how dazzlingly white everything is, it's easy to not realize you're coming on a turn and slam right into the walls. There are no rooms here--no one starts here, though they may find it while they wander. At the center is a large, round area, like the center of a spiral. There's a lot of air pressure here.
The Inner Hallways
The largest area, filled with dead ends, gentle slopes and twists, and, occasionally, difficult-to-see drops where a higher hallway intersects with a lower one without a wall to separate them. The whole place tastes vaguely like blood. Most rooms are here--most people start here.
The Outer Hallways
The outer ring of the ball of yarn. It's not as thick with halls and twists as the other two areas, leading to a lot more boring walking in one direction. It's totally possible to circle around the same path multiple times without realizing it, as everything is so similar here. Occasionally, footsteps can be heard just outside the farthest walls. Sometimes, something breathes. There are a few rooms here--some people will start here.
Remember to note what kind of eyes your character has in their top level!

i lied
The only thing he knows is there's pain in Zell's voice, and he needs to move faster. He's running, slipping a little on the white floor as he rounds a corner and all but crashes against Zell.
Bracing his hands on either of Zell's biceps, he pulls back to evaluate.]
You're bleeding!
[ It comes out a little accusatory. ]
pfft this is totally light hearted right
Then they collide. His hands move to help steady Jim. Once it connects to his brain that Jim is solid, warm, and definitely here, Zell is shifting his hold to grabbing Jim tight. Digging his fingers in as he tries to bury his face against to side of Jim's head. ]
I don't. I don't feel it. [ Pulling Jim tight against him. Is that a rock in his pocket or is he happy to see Jim? It's a rock. Thankfully the pointing in was aimed inward against Zell's thigh. ]
the heart wants what the heart wants okay
Then Zell's saying something really worrying and Jim's wiggling out of his grasp, gently pushing him back if he'll go, harder if he won't. ]
You don't - ow - you don't feel it? Let me see.
[ And Jim's not waiting for a go-ahead to push at Zell's hair, trying to find wherever all that blood is coming from. ]
no subject
Brows furrowing with concern as he looks Jim over as if to check where he's hurt. He doesn't move to touch Jim even when he's back in his space and investigating his hair. Closing his hands into fists as he looks to the floor. ]
Sorry. [ He will find a corner of shame as soon as Jim is finished. ] It's just blood. [ Ignore the gash in his head. ]
no subject
It could be a concussion. Let me - can you sit down?
[ Jim's own discomfort was momentary enough that he doesn't even acknowledge the apology with more than a shrug. ]
We need to clean it, and get some kind of bandage on it.
no subject
Yeah, sitting would be better. Harder to hurt anyone.
[ He can still feel it buzzing back there. How he should kill someone. Anyone.
Not Jim.
Zell sits down and looks at his hands. Then looking up at Jim. ]
Stars. Do you have anything you can tie me up with?
no subject
I can't tie you up.
[ Not because he loves Zell too much, or because he won't do it. There's just the simple fact: ]
You've got to get out of here. We both do.
What happened?
[ Jim is unwinding his scarf, though not for the reasons Zell wants him to. ]
no subject
You have to.
[ Grabbing Jim by the wrists. ]
Please, Jim. You have to. I don't know how long I can keep it under control.
no subject
This time he does yank back, hard, too startled at being grabbed to think about much else for a second. ]
Keep what under control?
[ Jim has an idea, he remembers that night everyone went insane just as well as Zell does, but he doesn't really want to believe it. ]
no subject
She? They? Dropped the rock on me. After that I wanted to kill someone. I want to kill someone, Jim.
[ Reaching in his pocket to pull out the rock. There is blood on it from when it made the gash. The rock is going to put on the floor and pushed towards Jim with shaky hands. Then he's scooting back away from his boyfriend. ]
Take it.
no subject
Jim takes the rock.
He stares at it in his own hands, seemingly ignoring Zell and waiting to see if the urge passes with the object, but it doesn't. It's just a rock coated with his boyfriend's blood, and Jim shoves it in his pack before his attetnion is back to Zell. ]
Do you want to kill me?
[ There's no judgement, and only the tiniest waver of fear, in Jim's voice. ]
no subject
N-no. [ His voice cracks as he thinks about the idea of killing his boyfriend. He doesn't want to kill Jim. He just wants to kill someone. It'll be good to kill someone with the rock. He'll have to kill someone with it. ]
No! I don't want to Kill you. It wants me to kill with that. Like-like it'll be good.
no subject
Not enough to keep him away permanently, though. He trails closer and, in a familiar gesture, shrugs off his overcoat. Jim kneels in front of Zell and - if Zell will let him - cups his chin. He doesn't force Zell's eyes up. ]
It's going to be okay, Zell.
[ He's not sure if that's a lie or not. ]
I've got it now. You can't hurt anyone with it.
no subject
He reaches up as if to touch Jim, but he doesn't make contact. He just lets his hand hover by the side of his face. ]
Stars. [ His voice is still charged with emotions. He wants to hug Jim, but he doesn't want to hurt him or be rough again. ]
no subject
When it becomes clear that he isn't, Jim swipes his thumb under Zell's eye and, reluctantly, lets go. ]
Let me bandage your cut. You're still bleeding.
[ And then they'll have to decide what to do. ]
no subject
How's this?
no subject
[ Jim lightly runs a hand over the undamaged part of Zell's forehead, pulling back a much of the hair as will go, and then - because he can't help himself - he's touching Zell's arms where they're tightly crossed, too.
He undertands why his boyfriend's withdrawing the way he is, but he wants so badly -
It doesn't matter.
With gentle efficiency, he's producing one of the precious few waterbottles they were given when the rooms released them and pouring a tiny bit over the end of his scarf. He uses that to clear away the blood that's already clotted on Zell's head around the wound. ]
I don't think it's deep.
[ Whoever it was hadn't been aiming to kill Zell. ]
no subject
He's trying to remember their talks of what partners are supposed to do. How the conversation with Zach went even, but he does feel a knot of worry. That he may end up hurting Jim.
While Jim dabs at the wound, Zell stretches his arm over to his boyfriend's hip. Tracing lightly the designs he drew into the skin as he concentrates on that. He's still not entirely sure this is real. Sure, he felt the rock's initial impact, but what if this was like those dreams? ]
It probably nicked a vein. [ And produced an annoying amount of bleeding. ]
no subject
[ Jim's agreeing with him. His hands, if Zell's paying attention, are shaking slightly as he finishes the cleanup. It's still bleeding sluggishly when he's done, but it's clean, and good enough to wrap snuggly around Zell's head. ]
There. You're okay. It's going to be okay.
[ Just because Jim's focusing on the most immediate problem doesn't mean he's not thinking about the rest. ]
no subject
Yeah. [ The words comes out in a long breath. ] Yeah, it's going to be okay. [ Repeating it in hopes it'll actually come true. The fear and anxiety from the room is gone, but now he has to worry about hurting the people he cares for.
He doesn't really have the will to move at the moment, but he knows they need to actually get moving. To kick ass and find a way out. ]
Did. Did they do anything to you?
no subject
(They can't. Jim wishes he were a little better at lying to himself.) ]
No. Nothing's touched me. Ran into a few people here and there, but we keep getting separated.
[ Jim bites his lip around the question he wants to ask - did Zell run into anyone? Had he killed anyone? Surely there would've been more blood if that were the case... ]
no subject
Ran into a few people. Steph, Tony, Ecks, and Brian. [ A pause. ] Brian was the only one with me after the rock fell.
[ Touching the small of Jim's back carefully as he traces new designs down. It's easier having an eye full of lap or stomach at the moment so not to stare into the false eyes of the prophet. That's what makes this whole frickin' thing hard to believe.
Sure, creepy ghosts giggling and dropping rocks is pretty hard to swallow normally, but this place has shown it's not normal. ]
no subject
It's a terrible kind of relief, but it's enough to make him force the words out: ]
Did you...?
[ Well. Some of the words. ]
no subject
No. No, I didn't. He stayed behind me the whole time. [ There is something left unsaid. The part where Brian could have taken Zell out any time he felt endangered. It didn't come to that thankfully. ]
no subject
God, everything about this sucks. ]
-Okay. Good.
[ It's lame, but heartfelt. ]
Good. It's - [ Jim chews his lip. ] It's going to be okay. I think I have an idea, but you're probably not going to like it.
