"The Battle of New York" is vague. What battle? Against who? And which vigilante do you know?

It's really not, actually. I guess that tells us what you want to know - you and I are not from the same... [Claire sighs. This is so much to take in.] universe?

The Battle of New York happened on May 4th, 2012. There was a portal opened between worlds, bringing in an Alien army to subdue us. You and the rest of the Avengers closed the portal.

[She scrunches up her nose.]

Where I'm from, it doesn't make sense that you'd know him, but. I think you do anyway. Daredevil. [Which Natasha probably already knows, if he's called the Devil's of Hell's Kitchen where she's from, too. She seems too smart not to put two and two together.]

Alien invasions are par for the course, unfortunately. And yes, I know him. Is he the only vigilante you take care of?

Not in my world - and hopefully it won't. [Still, Claire smiles, sympathetically. It can't be much fun.]

Yes, he is. And he's been...a handful, to say the least.

A handful. If he's anything like the Daredevil I know, that's a kind way of putting it.

[Claire smiles, a little lopsided.]

He's doing good, I know that, but he's also...ugh.

[Sighing, Claire looks away, reminded of the words she told him before she left him.]

[That sounds like her Matt, too, but she's not going to be as open as Claire is being. Not quite yet.]

How did you meet him? Does he ever work with the Avengers in your world?

[The thing is, Claire can read, and she's seen the interaction between Natasha and Matt on the post. She also saw his question about making the conversation private, so she knows there is probably more than what was on the surface. But - definitely friendly, comfortable.

It's none of Claire's business.]

He almost bled to death in my dumpster. And not as far as I'm aware.

[Looking away, Claire frowns lightly.] I'm not putting him in danger by talking to you, am I? Or talking publicly?

Oh. I'm still getting used to these things.

[Still worrying the inside of her bottom lip, Claire nods.]

It wasn't you so much than just. What gets broadcast on this network, where does it go, you know? Matt doesn't need anyone to have more ammo against him.

[Or against her. She can see it, his face as he tells her that he never wanted her to get this involved. His face as he stitched her up. She swallows hard.]

He's my friend, too. But the one, here - [She motions up, like it explains his earlier entry to the Arrivals log.] - he's not... [She doesn't want to say mine, even if it's the only word on her tongue for a long time.]

Pretty sure he's not the one from my world.

The Matt I know wouldn't wear that suit in a million years.

[She chuckles. He really wouldn't, but it's far from being the only thing.]

He doesn't...look the same, either.

I wish I hadn't been forced to see that suit.

Same. It's terrible.

[She shrugs.]

It's only one thing that I can notice so far, but it's significant. Hair color and cut is very different.

I wouldn't be surprised. So, how much do you know about me from your world?

Very little, only what I've seen on TV, on the news. Natasha Romanov, former Russian spy, now working alongside the rest of the Avengers.

[Claire purses her lips together.]

I have no ties with any of you, and neither does Matt, as far as I know. Back home, it's you, Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, the Hulk, and Thor.

[That lines up with what Steve told her, at least.]

Things are more complex than that where I'm from. Daredevil and I were partners before I was an Avenger.

[Which was all over the tabloids and newspapers, so she doesn't really mind if Claire knows.]

[Claire thinks of the Matt from her own world, and imagines he'd have liked that.]

He's only become active recently, back home. Long after the Battle of New York, which exposed the Avengers to the world. He's trying to take down this corrupt politician, Fisk.

And how did you meet him?

[She shrugs.]

H got into a fight with Russian thugs, and landed in my dumpster, with a collapsed lungs, broken ribs, and lacerations all over his body. My kid neighbor found him and told me.
