I remember. I didn't like them either. [Okay, Papa Royce. Wash her hands with her, good.] Do you think they do? Keep the monsters away.

Maybe I should keep it. Um. Maybe I can put it by the door with the monster in it?

[bywolves]

[ He helps her up, and leads her to the bathroom - he's not sure when this whole father thing started, but he's not going to stop now. ]

You can, if you want. Keep it with you so that you don't have to throw it up again. [ Because that's the impression he's getting. ] I'll sit with you by the door.

[Carefully, she gets up and follows after Royce's lead.] What if I throw it up even when I keep it? [Great.]

Duster, do you think I'm getting sick? Like the weepers? That I'm seeing things?

[bywolves]

No. You're not. [ He says that straight off, answering her question. He holds out his hand so she can hold it as they walk. He'll help her with the sink if she's not tall enough. ] You're not getting sick.

If you throw it up when you keep it, there isn't a lot we can do. I'll be here. I won't move. [ He rests his free hand on her head. ] How are your hands? Still hurt?

[Okay, okay. She's reassured, but only a little bit. The sink is still just a tad too tall even on her tip-toes, so she has to sit on his thigh while he braces her up high enough.

The water, of course, is cold, and she hates it. The ice of it makes her ache. But it gets the sick off, and she's clean after. (She even washes the rock.)] A little.

I hurt all over, like I ran a long, long way. My arm hurts when I try to write or draw.

[bywolves]

[ He makes sure her hands are clean, and then he brings them down to wipe them dry with his cloak. He holds her hands in his own, hoping to warm them a little. Make sure she doesn't get frostbite. ]

I have medication that is supposed to help with that, but I'm not sure how much to give you. [ There's a pause, and then he sighs. ] I'll ask someone.

I can carry you. Don't avoid asking if you need it.

Oh. [She's (unsure) about medication.] Do you know what it'll do? Sokolov's Elixir didn't really do anything for the rat plague in the beginning... But after I got coronated, it started to help people.

Corvo said it's because Sokolov worked with Piero, a man from the Hound Pits. They made it better. [She makes a bit of a face.] I don't have to be carried. But you go too fast sometimes.

I feel like I can't keep up.

It'll make the pain go away. At least a little. [ Royce rests a hand on her head. ] You need to tell me when you can't keep up. I can slow down if you need me to, but you have to tell me.
