[network] voice @expostfacto; Clothing needed [open] Night 158
[When she'd made her introductions the day before, there'd been the slightest of tremors to her voice. Now, she's not even sure she could hide the full-blown shake in it if she tried.]
This whole "search around until you find something more suitable for the weather" thing may work for some people, but it's not working for me. I've been searching for two days, and I've found a napkin and a pair of socks. I don't know how much longer I can keep this up.
[She's grateful for the socks in particular. She's been able to work the napkin into something makeshift with some clothespins she found, but it wasted a lot of time checking it to make sure it didn't fall off. And in the end, her legs were still virtually numb by the time she stopped in a new shelter. The night before had been particularly bad. There was a time for pride, and this wasn't it.]
Particularly, I need something to cover my lower half more thoroughly. I don't exactly have much to offer right now, just some of the things I've found so far. But I'll be damned if I'm going to die here.
Pretty sure I'm east of the chapel. Let me know if you're in the area and willing to trade.
[Or accept an IOU. In any case, that was done. She sets her tablet back down, wrapping herself more thoroughly up in her jacket again, trying get feeling back into her legs. Preventing hypothermia was a tricky beast. To avoid frostbite, you needed to keep heat in your extremities, even as it fled to your core. At the same time, if you did lots of movement and exercise, you risked building up a sweat, which would drain your body heat even faster.
The socks really did help, at least.]

[A few candid shots are included of the interior of House 101 at the moment. Thanks Vanitas.]
Might be something here or there I can try to use, though.

[He thinks about it a moment. Where would people not go?]
...The buildings in the southeast are less likely to be as tampered with, I think; there aren't any reliable food sources or things of import there. Unless you've had other plans all along, of course - far be it from me to interrupt a trade or gift you have planned with someone else.
[There are plenty of buildings, after all, and more people than him talking to her.]

[Even if people didn't frequent there, they might still turn up there, and if they really have been there for months, then those same people might've dug through those areas when the obvious ones were depleted. It was something to watch for when you had the opportunity, but if you had other plans...]
In any case, I'm meeting with someone tomorrow, then Quark suggested that I go west towards the school.

I'm glad you've got help already. [Not that he doubted it; certain clowns aside, everyone seemed at least willing to point people in the right direction here, temporary fights aside.]
That's a good idea, too - a house near the school has hot water in limited supply each day. There's nothing quite as refreshing in this place, and I say this as someone who didn't come from having it at my leisure.
[It's the "modern convenience" he never knew he wanted so badly until he had it.]

[Okay that actually gets her attention.]
I'll bet. A hot shower would be amazing right now.
[It's probably the most open and genuine comment that she's made this entire post. Possibly her entire time in Norfinbury.]

[He kind of misses it. Part of him wants to turn around and go there with her. But...he knows, and at the same time, is ashamed of it, that for him it would be a step backwards. He knows where he needs to go, once they can.]
