Yeah. Mind you, it's a bit too cold to show 'em off.

But I have been thinking, and I cannot come up with a pleasant thing I'm hiding, right now. I'm an open book, me.

[plundering]

Not too cold to wear a bathrobe, though. And I don't know about the whole open book thing.

[devoutish]

This bathrobe is warm.

[plundering]

[She shrugs.]

I don't think you hide things, I just don't think you're big on sharing with everyone.

[devoutish]

[Well, she's definitely right there - though he does hide things, sometimes.]

You think I fit into the middle ground, then. What else do you think about me? Let's test those perception skills of yours.

[plundering]

Oh, a test.

[Okay, sure. She's for it. She looks him up and down as though inspecting him, playing up the drama.]

I think you're smart and calculating. You're dangerous, but not unreasonable. You're not going to seek out revenge on anyone just for revenge's sake, and you won't get violent for no reason. Confident, but not arrogant, and good with dealing with people. Probably good at manipulating them, too. And you don't like letting most people see weakness from you.

[She pauses again, thinking. She's not sure how much he wants her to say.]

I'm guessing you're loyal to your gang over everyone else. Or your family. I don't know how much crossover there is.

[He nods, approving.]

[plundering]

Thanks. I'd better be. It's pretty much my job.

[She smiles.]

You're less dangerous than I am, but you can be ruthless when you need to be. Callous. You needed to be, on that world of yours. You're used to being on your own, taking care of yourself. You're independent. You don't trust easily, because not many people have given you reason to.

[plundering]

Impressive. And what about you? Can I trust you?

[She already mostly does, so it's a moot question, but it makes her feel better to ask.]

[devoutish]

Yes.

[It's an easy answer for him to give. When it comes to business, he's an untrustworthy and duplicitous person overall - but there are people he likes that he would screw over, and people he likes that he wouldn't. She's in the latter group now.]

[plundering]

[She's good at telling when people are lying, and she's certain he's not. It's a simple response, but it puts her at ease, makes the last bits of doubt disappear. It's nice.]

You can trust me, too.

[Maybe he doesn't need to hear it, but she feels like it's worth saying.]

[devoutish]

[He lifts their hands, and kisses her knuckles.]

Yeah, all right. Then I will.

[plundering]

[Huh. Completely unexpected, not at all what she thought she wanted, so even though her eyebrows go up... she finds she doesn't mind. She's smiling, too.]

[That doesn't mean she won't tease him forever, though.]

[He raises his eyebrows right back, perpetually chill and collected.]
