I'm sorry, medicine really isn't something I know a lot about, I wish I did. My brother and I did some research into bio-alchemy, and I had just started to learn alkahestry before I came here, but I'm still a beginner.

I don't know much about it, either. Never fucking heard of alkahestry. Is it anything like alchemy?

[Al sounds just about as excited as it's possible to sound.]

Alkahestry is a branch of alchemy, it's what's practised in the country of Xing. But alchemy is what I practise, that's what's common in Amestris.

I know of alchemy. It's medieval, where I'm from.

It's 1915 where I'm from, though only just. It seems like my world isn't like anyone else's here, Amestris is just-- different.

[It concerns him sometimes. Everyone else, even the ones from really odd worlds, all seem to have met others who have come from the same or similar places. The only people who knew Amestris were his brother and Greed.]

Yeah. It's 1922 for me, but we haven't got a country called Amestris.

How about Ishval? Xing? Drachma?
