[Estinien pauses when he reads the reply—Count Haillenarte had a fourth son? He supposes that is possible, it isn't like he pays attention to the affairs of nobles, or how many crotchdroppings they squeeze out. Odd still, because he's heard of the others, but is having a hard time placing the fourth...]

Aye—'twas merely a first thought that we might be, but all other signs point to otherwise despite what deceptive similarity it proves to have.

[Not Ishgardian or Eorzean. He mislikes the more he hears, but what can he honestly do?]

So... whoever is responsible was not satisfied with merely an Ishgardian noble, but too sought to bring me to this accursed land. I will be sure to show them my gratitude, should fortune chance us to cross paths.

Until then, are you able to fare well in these conditions on your own?

[Not that... Estinien is particularly interested in baby sitting a noble, but he is not likely to turn his back on a fellow Ishgardian—especially if they are the only ones here.]

[count haillenarte's more distinguished sons — or crotchdroppings, to the more vulgar-minded — number three: lord stephanivien, the engineer, lord aurvael, the explorer, and lord chlodebaimt, favorite of the fallen, may halone grant him everlasting glory. joacin is a nobody; joacin is an afterthought.

estinien would not recognize joacin, in part because he is better known as lord francel, but even that doesn't matter much to him or to anyone else.]

I am more concerned for you than for myself.

[which is true, if only because francel doesn't care about himself at all, but at least it lends credence to the idea that he isn’t as helpless as he seems.]

[Lord Francel would certainly ring as many bells as Lord Joacin, which is to say none at all.

There's a sound that leaves Estinien when he reads what Francel responds with, and it half sounds amused and annoyed.]

I know well how to survive in such trying circumstances, I did not become the Azure Dragoon from incompetence.

[Even though killing dragons and knowing basic survival skills don't necessarily go hand in hand...]

[and nor did you become azure dragoon for your brilliant mind goes unsaid.]

[Francel is smart to keep that commentary to himself, Estinien is far too prickly (more than normal even!) to deal with such sass.]

'Twould seem at the moment there is naught more I can think to ask that has not already been answered. However, should you come across any useful or relevant information about this place or our situation, you would do well to share such with me.

I shall do the same.
