Well we send letters sometimes, I guess, but mostly we just talk to each other. Unless it's out in the field, then we use signal flares, because of the distance.

Are you saying this sort of thing is normal where you're from? I'm so excited, it's like there's all this stuff out there I had no idea existed!

Talk... your world can't be so large if you can keep contact with others so easily. [Small planets? They happen more often than you'd imagine in his universe, that's why he doesn't seem to surprised.]

Devices like this are relatively common, even if this city's technology is still a mistery for us. There is a lot we still have to learn.

Well, it does take a lot of travel, sometimes. But no, the habitable zone for humans in my world isn't all that large, compared to what's outside of it. [Hange's adjusting to this whole multiple worlds business pretty well. It's alright, they'll panic about it later.] Going outside the walls makes for a lot of communication difficulties. Hence the flares.

But wow, I can't get over this device. It's well beyond anything we've got. You must be from a pretty advanced place if stuff like this is common.

Sounds somehow familiar. Flares can't be seen from an habitable area to another in my world, most of times you're alread lucky when people know about other areas.
[Places divided by walls that can be dangerous if you step outside? Not such a new concept for Leon. And he can listen, if needed, to eventual freakouts.]

Only in certain places. Do you have stars? In my universe every star is a small planet with its population and its level of technology, so my place can be either quite primitive or rather advanced. But enough about mine, tell me more about yours.

Well, there's only one habitable area. Although it's at least large enough that yeah, I don't think flares would be visible between cities.

[Hange perks up.]

Of course we have stars. Are you saying that every star is actually another world? That's... that's insane! There's too many stars to even count! Are there really that many?

[They've almost forgotten his last request, but manage to remember it in time.]

To be honest, we don't know all that much about our world. Everything was forgotten, or more likely, suppressed, somewhere around a hundred years ago. We don't know why humanity lives inside the walls, but they do. And outside the walls, we have the Titans.

[There's an unmistakeable gleam in Hange's eye as they continue.]

Titans are giant creatures that look sort of like people, but so far, they don't seem to act like them. Well, there was this one case... But for the most part, Titans seem to be mainly focused on just eating us. We're not sure where they came from, but I do have some theories on that. In fact, I have a lot of theories about Titans. And a lot of facts, too. I've been doing a lot of research in the past few years, and especially in the last few months. I can give you a thorough run-down if you'd like.

Oh. This is more similar to my world than you can imagine.

[Leon would usually avoid to talk about different worlds but the city already is like a weird mess like Traverse Town, it won't probably change things too much.]

That's the point. So many worlds, all under the same sky. Every one of them is a single small world with one or two major cities and a somehow limited population... and most of them don't know that there are other worlds outside. And that's how things have to be.

[He nods in her direction]

I see... that's interesting. We do have Titans in one of our worlds but as far as I've seen tey are more like elemental entities than anything else. And I've never seen any of them feed on humans. [He pauses] I am actually interested in your Titan-theories, if you want to share them. [He's waiting in a building anyway, he can use some distraction.]
