[log] Inncoming [open]
Characters: Sad Losers and Guests
Location The Hotel (162)
Date: Various times during days 124 - 125
Summary: Hanging out, giving out keys, and being sad.
Warnings: Dumb Teens, Grumpire, Brian, a lack of symmetry, and anything else.
A hotel--the Norfinbury Inn. By hotel standards, it's not especially large, but it's the largest building in the downtown area. The lobby is mostly empty and seems a bit old-fashioned in design, with what appear to be wooden floors and fairly plain walls. There are a few cozy areas where people can sit, and a fireplace in the center that, while it has no wood, is in perfect working order. The front desk has nothing of note except for all the keycards to the various rooms of the hotel. It looks like there are a total of twenty rooms. There is no elevator--looks like you'll have to use the stairs the old-fashioned way.
There is a small dining room area, although there are no tables or chairs to be found. The room echoes uncomfortably due to its emptiness. It connects to a small industrial kitchen, although there is no longer any food or appliances to be found. It seems like the ovens and stoves were cut out of their places. The sinks still work, at least. There is also a door that unlocks with a management keycard that can be found in the lobby that leads downstairs.
The basement is very simple. It's colder down here than in the rest of the building, and utilitarian in style. There's a small break room, a laundry room that no longer has any of its machinery but does have large rolling baskets for moving clothes in bulk (that refuse to leave the hotel, unfortunately) and some cleaning carts devoid of cleaning supplies (that are just as stubborn as the clothes baskets). There's a small room with space for what must have once been a furnace--and an actual very old-fashioned incinerator. It's not on, of course, but if a fire were started manually, it would still function. There's nothing inside it.
The first floor of the hotel contains rooms 101 to 110. There are five single rooms and five double rooms. All of the plumbing works, though the water runs cold. The second floor, containing rooms 201 to 210, is identical to the first floor, except for one door that has no key, only a note on the front: "All at once, use the keys". There's no place to insert any keys, however.
Tied to the knob of the front door is various eating utensils, nails, screws, and a spare house key. Looks like someone rigged a doorbell to be alerted to newcomers. The fire is going in the lobby, and there appears to be a mattress close to it.
((OOC: Miiiingling. Toss up your own starters))

tonight I want some hot stuff baby this evenin'
[ Following along behind him and enjoying the view without discretion. ] I like the room we were in. Made some good memories in there.
[ And took some good pictures. Zell's gaze lingers down Jim's back as he remembers the feel of it under his finger tips. Really shouldn't get excited out here in the lobby, but he can't really help it. Smiling like an idiot as he looks up to make sure he doesn't walk into anything. ]
no subject
Hope Zell's ready to run with two cups of stew, because one minute Jim's walking at a perfectly normal pace and the next he's taking off at a run. ]
Race ya!
no subject
H-hey! [Jim is lucky Zell is actually graceful. Still not going fast because hot mugs and Mochi likes getting underfoot at the worst possible moment.
He already knows he's not going to beat Jim, but he does his best. If it wasn't for the creatures outside, everyone would probably have heard the sounds of their feet on the wood floors. ]
no subject
-I win.
/back to silly
I think I won. [ Padding over to the night stand to deposit the mugs and cold water bottle. It doesn't take long before he's standing in front of Jim snagging the ends of his coat to hold Jim there as he leans down to kiss him.
Which is actually a distraction as he moves to slide his hands under the coat to work on tugging up on Jim's shirt quickly. There is a hint of something amiss as he grins. Going to shove his warm and cold hands under there against his boyfriend's sides, laughing against his mouth as he does. ]
no subject
Hey!
[ Oh, it's on now, boyfriend. Jim tugs at the back of Zell's hair indignantly. ]
You're freezing, jerk!
no subject
Warm me up? [ He finds he really doesn't mind the hair tugging, but he does relent. Placing his cold hand on Jim's lower back between his shirt and the coat that he commandeered. Trailing kisses along his jawline to his neck. ]
How are your burns?
no subject
They weren't that bad.
[ Jim tilts his neck back, helpfully, and might've said something encouraging had his stomach not let out a growl loud enough to be heard. ]
-Uh. Break?
no subject
Yeah, we can take a break. [ He's slow to disengage from Jim. Plopping down close to the night stand to grab the mugs once again. Offering one over to Jim. ] Here we go.
no subject
-Taste okay?
[ Probably silly to care, since it's not as though he did anything but heat it over the fire, and yet... yeah, he cares a little. ]
no subject
Taking a drink of the canned soup and closing his eyes. Letting it heat him down to his core. ]
Yeah, it's good! [ It's nothing home made, but it does remind him of cafeteria food. Scooting close to Jim to put his arm across his back. ]
no subject
...It was the best, and one of the warmest, things he's had to eat in four months. He practically inhaled it. ]
-Good.
[ He leans against Zell automatically, probably only slightly disrupting the whole eating process by poking his nose between Zell's jaw and shoulder. ]
That was one of the best things Silver made, back on the ship. Stew. He was a pretty good cook for a guy who was just pretending.
no subject
He almost chokes on his next mouthful of beef soup at the mention of Silver. The pirate still sits in an uncomfortable area in Zell's mind. Rubbing circles against Jim's back as he does his best to focus on the positive instead of the urge to punch a jerk. ] He probably had years of practice. [ Cooking. Maybe pretending too. ]
What else did he do that you enjoyed?
no subject
I - [ He wishes he had to think about it, but he doesn't. A half-dozen answers come easily. ] - he told great stories. Sometimes everyone would just sit around after supper and listen to him talk. The network'd be a lot more interesting if he were here.
no subject
Reaching over to slide his fingers through his boyfriend's hair as he leans close to press a kiss against his cheek. ]
I can think of something that's interesting right now. [ Looking at the hand on his side for a moment. Then he's hooking his hands on the sleeves of his tank top to pull it off. ] Where were we? [ Before Jim's stomach made demands. ]
no subject
I think you were going to read to me. [ Or had it been the other way around? Jim doesn't actually care. ]
/rolls away
Zell gives a thoughtful look as if considering being the one to do the reading. He might if Jim seriously ever asks for it, even if he doesn't like doing it.
Snagging the ends of Jim's shirts to slide his hands back under to feel up his chest. ]
If by reading you mean this... [ Then he'll be very happy to oblige. ]
no subject
[ But Jim's not actually objecting, anyway. They've got a bed and they're full and they've both had a bath recently
even if it was spectacularly derailed.]no subject
I'll read to you later. [ Giving his chest a squeeze. He'll do this best to sit still and read! ]
i apologize in advance for where this is going
-Wait. Stop a second.
no subject
What's up, Stars? [ Moving his hands to the safe location of his hips. ] You okay?
no subject
[ Jim might be laughing. He might be crying. He's definitely less into it than he was a second ago, and Zell can probably feel it. ]
Keep thinking about someone walking in on us. Like Beckett. Or... Brian.
[ That mask.
:C :C :) ]
no subject
I can go lock the door. [ Even if he really doesn't want to move away. Pressing a gently kiss on Jim's cheek. ]
Still have the key card? [ Or does Zell have it? They'll find it eventually. ]
no subject
It's here somewhere.
[ But even if things have cooled off, Jim's still octopus-arming Zell to keep him in place. ]
We'll find it later. It's warm.
no subject
I keep thinking about when we stayed in the same house. I didn't know if he was awake or sleeping under that mask.
[ He likes his friends, but he knows they are weird in their own way.
Zell isn't really in any hurry to find it. ] There is a do not disturb sign in the drawer. For later. [ When they want to explore the new and exciting things that pop up between them. ]
