A person can choose whether to do a thing they are told or whether not to do a thing they are told. That is what makes a person a person. I did not choose to do this thing, but evidence indicates that I did it.

I am a person.
I am a person.
I did not choose to move.

Sometimes power greater than us can control our minds, make us do things we don't want to do but this doesn't make us less... real.

Even if you moved against your will this doesn't deny the fact you're a person, it only means something bigger than you took control for a while.
And trust me, it bothers me, but there's nothing we can do to change what happened.

I don't want to be controlled.

This happened to everyone?
All the people?

No one wants to be controlled but sometimes it can't be helped.

You're not the only one who remembers walking during the night, even if for me and apparently some other people it felt like a dream. None of us decied to o it, thought.

What does a dream feel like?
Has this happened to you before?

You... don't dream?

[That sounds a little like Tron, even if he never got to interact with the AI for so long.]

It's hard to describe what a dream feels like: you feel awake and you move around and interact with a woeld that can make senseor not. You can be whoever your subconscius wants, reflecting fears or hopes or being simply... stupid. And when you dream you can't usually tell yu're not realy awake.

And- I'm not sure but it's not completely unheard of people walking in their sleep.Or controlled by someone else.

I don't remember ever dreaming. If dreaming feels like being awake I do not know how I could tell if I have dreamed or if some things I think I remember were dreaming. I remember walking but it could have been a dream. Dreams occur only during sleep, correct?

Not completely unheard of? But not common?

It's hard to explain. What happens when you sleep? Do you just black out? Anyway, dreams always feel a bit... off, but you notice you were dreaming only when you wake up.

Not common but not completely unheard of. It's considered a sleep disorder also called somnambulism. You walk, you do things, you even talk sometimes but you're not aware you're doing it.

I am awake. Then I am not awake. Then I am awake again.

[And she strongly dislikes it. This did not happen to her before she came here, and she would rather it had stayed that way.]

But if it is not common, we did not all have somnambulism last night.

I see. Well, what we experienced last night may be compared to a dream, even if we're not completely sure of what really happened.

Maybe. But in this place it's hard to tell, there are many uncommon things going on.

The doors are locked at night. If something prompted us to walk, it must also have unlocked the doors. Who controls the doors controlled us. Does Admin control the doors?
canyouhandlethismany: (061)

[personal profile] canyouhandlethismany 2016-03-26 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
@Admin seems to control the doors but this seemed out of her control. I keep believing that there may be some third part involved but we don't know anything for sure.

And, yes, whatever prompted us to walk or moved us is probably the same... thing, person, AI, whatever that opened the doors for us all.

[Going for a comforting voice.]

You didn't move, something or someone else moved you. It happened to all of us. It's happened to some of us before, in certain buildings.

Doesn't make you not a person. You think, therefore you are, Ecks.

That is all? That is the only requirement to be a person?

It is important that I can choose. It has become very important to me.
