[network] @ADMIN; Arrival [open]
Welcome to Norfinbury. The time is E̛̬̞͖͖̫R҉͖̯̬R̼̻͉̰͎̳̙O̩͓͔̫͇͈̯R and the date is E̛̬̞͖͖̫R҉͖̯̬R̼̻͉̰͎̳̙O̩͓͔̫͇͈̯R. This network has been provided for your use. Please interact politely with everyone else on this network.
Morning 114; @CaptSteveRogers; video
My name is Captain Steve Rogers. I know this is probably confusing and frightening for you, and I'm sorry for that, but I'm here to help.
You've been brought to Norfinbury, Alaska, the United States of America, Earth, sometime after 2050. We don't know who brought us here, and we don't know why, but we seem to have been brought from all over—different times, different worlds, different species.
This place is very dangerous; before you leave the building you're in, I strongly urge you to read the survival guide that I've attached to this message. If you need assistance or if you have questions, and I'm sure you do, myself or any of the others who've been here will be happy to help you out.
[Attached is SurvivalGuide.doc.]

Is there any information available on the status of our homes?
[Whether or not this is a world where The Fall has occurred, she's very worried about her home and her teammates.]
text
...Actually that's not quite true, we can communicate with a backup of an artificial intelligence in Russia, assuming she is what and where she says she is. But other than that, just the Admin and the rest of us who are trapped in this town.

[Of course that's the part Aigis latches onto. But that's...really exciting! Maybe it's someone like her?]

@duster; voice
You said Earth, not Elan. [ He sounds irritated, more than anything. It's almost not even a question, since he bulldozes on through. ] What the hell is this thing? This thing I'm talking on. How does it work?
voice
It's called a 'tablet'. It's primarily for communication; you can use it to talk to anyone on the network—that's the rest of us, through our tablets—using text, or voice, or video. It's got a few other functions—it tells you the time, warns you to find shelter before the doors close for the night, lets you view data stored on SD cards, and so forth. I can help you learn how to use it, if you like, or you can activate the Personal Assistant function, it can help you out with all of the functions.
And uh. Not sure I have the electrical engineering background to really tell you how it works, sorry. All I really know is it takes in information—audio, images, what have you, and transmits them through the air to... presumably some centralized location, which then transmits it to the other tablets. Not sure how they're powered, presumably the batteries charge wirelessly... somehow...?
...If that all went over your head, I'm sorry. Not sure what your frame of reference is for technology. The important thing is that it does work, more than the how.

Poor Steve. Royce understands about... half of those words, and it makes him irritable because he's not used to being this far out of his element. Plus, he's cold, which is a new sensation that he absolutely does not like. ]
I assume it's magic based. [ That should probably give Steve an idea of what his frame of reference is. ] I don't need your help figuring it out, I can do it on my own.
You can tell me if you've seen someone, though. Tall, brown hair. Three swords. [ A pause, as he realizes... Cue him patting himself down. He was so distracted by the cold he didn't even think Alverstone would be gone, but of course it is. He mutters in an almost panicked way: ] Where is --

re: morning 114 @Kid, video
Doctor Stitches. [Blinking, Kid folds his hands.] Who is this gentleman going about calling himself Doctor Stitches? I don't suppose that's actually his real name.
[Because the description--trauma surgery, neurosurgery, and pediatrics, with a love of dissection...that brings to mind an image of a particular Professor Franken Stein.
Unless, you know, there are a bunch of surgeons who specialize in trauma and neurosurgery who also have love of dissection and a specialty in pediatrics and the skill of dissecting living people without killing them.]
video
Pretty darn sure it isn't, but it's what he likes to be called, for whatever reason. I don't actually know him very well. Never met him in person.
Video
Kid pauses, trying to look slightly less agitated. He can't quite help it; the cold is bothering him far more than he's willing to admit.]
My apologies--the description of his skill set makes him seem familiar.
[Slim fingers adjust his brooch, and then he nods weakly.] Additionally, thank you for providing a guide on the location.

There is a way for someone to be brought back to life?
[Clearly the most important thing about being here.]

Or could someone have died somewhere else and still be brought back to life?

But when he finally replies, he uses the video on his end too, stroking his own beard thoughtfully as he leans forward to peer at the tiny screen.]
Captain of what?

Used to be U. S. Army.

Used to be British army.
If I'm understanding this right - if I ask you what war, your answer might not be the same as mine would, will it.

@standardissue; text -> video - late evening - [private]
We tripped a booby trap in one of the stores downtown. An axe swung at my friend's head. He tried to duck, but didn't manage it completely. Left a nasty gash, and I think he has a concussion. We have him resting on his back now, legs elevated, and I've cleaned the wound with soap and water and sealed it with super glue. Not ideal, I know, but we're working with what we have.
[He switches to video then, making sure the camera is giving John a good view of Zack's wound and what they've done for it. With his free hand, he parts Zack's mess of spiky hair. It's not a bad wound, nothing that someone with a first aid kit couldn't handle, but it's easy to see why Kunsel is concerned.]
[private video]
You did a good job with what you had, Kain. If that starts bleeding again, Just try to apply pressure and get it sealed back up. Head wounds like to bleed, I'm sure you've found. Looks like you've got the first-aid sorted. He might be feeling that
Keep him hydrated. Not moving's not much of an option here for any real length of time, but make sure you lot are taking breaks, even if he says he doesn't need it. Hopefully should have any symptoms clearing up within a week or so. If he gets any worse than he is now in the next day or two, let me know. We might have a more serious problem on our hands.
D'you have any medicine with you? Acetaminophen? Think they call it Tylenol out here in the States. He's gonna have a hell of a headache if he doesn't already. If you can avoid it, try not to give him any aspirin, especially not just now. It'll thin his blood out and make bleeding against more likely.

@Kid; Day 114 [video]
[By this he means Hi, Dr. Watson, though you probably can't tell. Sorry about that. Kid sounds angrier than he is. His fingers are steepled in front of his face, and thanks to your friend
Dr. StitchesStein, there's a small amount of blood on his fingers. It's not obvious. You know, if you aren't a doctor who's trained to look for that.After hesitating Kid sighs, glancing off screen and then back to the camera. As he speaks, he occasionally looks away from the camera, checking something to his right and then his left, before his gold eyes fall back on the screen.] My apologies. This is...not an ideal situation. While I am frustrated with whoever this "Admin" entity is, that does not give me the right to take those frustrations out on you--particularly if you are offering assistance.
Thank you for your information and your assistance, Dr. Watson. My name is Kid.

In line with Dr. Watson's comment above, I'd like to be added to the physician's list as well, if that's okay. General practitioner as well as cybernetic health and repair.

We are very prepared for a medical emergency here in Norfinbury.
I would like to be flippant, but frankly there is more medical staff here than there was at the Academy--and we certainly would have had use for more.
