[log] Monster Mash [semi-open]
Characters: Clayton, Enoch, Dio, House, Miranda, Clem, and Quark
Location P10 - BUILDING 110
Date: Day 041, evening
Summary: Gas Station slumber party! Following a monster attack.
Warnings: Will add as necessary, but general House disclaimer for insensitivity.
[The evening is drawing in around them as Miranda and House make their way toward the gas station. It's a somewhat familiar road to tread, at least, and there's the promise of his meds at the end of it... also people to distract the irritating woman walking with him from his company.
Epps should be good for that. He seems like the sort.
There's a sudden hiss from somewhere behind them, when they're still a good distance from the building. House glances back, then does a double-take when he sees a four-legged shadow monster pounding across the snow after them. That... what is that? It doesn't look like a robot. It doesn't look anything but absolutely real.]
Six o'clock!
[The words are snapped out as House turns, gauging the thing's speed. It's moving too fast for him to reach the gas station in time, which means improvising.]

[There were other ways, though with the monsters apparently not being killable that list of other ways has shortened for Clementine.]
Yeah, I remember that. I didn't switch it on though - it didn't seem like I could trust it. [A pause as she remembers, realising what he's saying.] ...You did though, and now they're after you. How does that work?

[...Well, based on her answer, maybe not.]
Wish I knew. But they followed me 'round the first time I ran into 'em outside, too. Jus' didn't notice it then...jus' thought I was makin' more noise 'n Enoch.
[He chuckles, scratches the back of his head.]
...They seem real fond a it, whatever it is. Guess that means I'll be able t' draw 'em away from folks better, eh? If you gotta run, it's a whole lot better when the thing ain't lookin' at ya.

I guess... Have you tried swapping with someone - [She indicates his tablet.] - to see if it's just the computer thing you're using? Seeing if it follows that instead of you?
[She knows you like being an idiot and running into danger, Clayton, but hey, could be useful.]

[One thing is for certain: Clementine is a very smart kid. Clayton leans forward on his knees and gives the idea a long think.]
...Could be worth a try. [He looks ahead, briefly hopeful, but then something alarming seems to strike him and he quickly shakes his head.] --But they were goin' after other folks 'fore they went after me. If I throw away the tablet an' they won't follow, then I'm puttin' all y'all at risk. And I'm short a tablet. [Clayton grimaces an apology.] Ain't sure I wanna take that chance.
