[network] day 038 - text - @claytonator; SHOTS, REDUX [open] [descriptions of illness]
This morning's shots don't seem to have gone over as well as the other ones. Noting some lingering side effects in at least two people--migraines, nausea, minor sensory over-sensitivity, symptoms aren't consistent. I'm feeling fine so far, but this might change later.
Status on everyone else? If anyone's having more serious reactions or current symptoms worsen, please let me know as soon as possible.

4 males, 1 female
1 teen, 3 20s-30s, 1 40s
symptoms moderate to severe intensity and inconsistent across individuals
fever, vomiting, body ache, chills id'd along with yours
general ddx:
those drugs were absolute shit
arachnid overlords need to start checking expiration dates
[Oh, look. House can be serious (mostly).]
text
You know, I don't think you're too far off. Almost sounds like an allergic reaction. Would also explain the inconsistencies between individuals.
The only thing it doesn't explain is how we've never had these kinds of symptoms after any other injections. Admin keeps their medicine spiders on rotation, you think?

or we were getting something new in this round
some individuals show increased sensitivity
thought it might be a meds conflict at first
assuming no one else is dipping into my stash, though
what connects us?
not age, gender, race
environmental?
notable similarities between you and others not ill?
[Sorry if he's being less than full sentences with you, Clayton. He's laying down and miserable.]

I don't think it's the shots
me and Jay are fine
Al has memory loss
and headaches/fever
he's not doing great
[ He's sure Clayton can get the implications of that without him having to spell it out. HELP DOCTOR GREATHAIR HE'S INFECTED EVERYBODY HE HECKED UP ]
text
I would agree with you, but it's affecting people well outside the hospital. As far as I can tell, the only things connecting everyone are the shots.
[Read: "Calm yo face, Tim."]
[Meanwhile, Clayton is not at all calm, because "confusion, headaches, and fever" are three things that do not go well together.]
Try and get Al somewhere comfortable and wrapped up, if you haven't already. See if anyone has any acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Is he responsive? Lucid, apart from the memory loss?

I mean I bet this doesn't have anything to do with anybody opening up any abandoned hospitals around here
unleashing things that might have been better left locked up
all that noise
there are other factors here man but I'd rather not go into it over the network k
anyway idk about wrapping him up man he's burning up
it
ugh
ok he's pretty messed because he has LONG term memory loss
but yeah he's talking to me just fine
this whole thing is really goofed how quick can you get here
[ Medicating him isn't really an option. What with the armour. But Tim can address that when Clayton arrives, right? ]

... I'm fine as well. I wouldn't have even known something had gone wrong if you hadn't said something.
[Weird.]

Glad yer doin' alright. You near anybody else?
no subject
No, unfortunately. I've been alone since I woke up in the temple. I don't know if there is still anyone in this part of the town, but if you do I can try to check on them.

who actually says that?
it's like an episode of moron meets world

I'm feeling a tad ill, myself. I'm a bit feverish, as well, and I've had a hell of a headache on and off since this morning.
There's a third member of our group, but he seems to feel perfectly well.
text
@TOTALLYANATION is the other one with you, right?
[Clayton would just outright call him Sealand, but he gets the impression from England's conspicuous insistence on usernames that he's trying to be discrete. He'll humor him.]

Stay calm for me Ellana. [Because Clayton sure as hell isn't!] I need you to check a few things. Are they at all responsive? What's their breathing like?

I'm headed south - I was going to meet up with Al and them. Is there anything I should bring you guys?

That's good. Very good. [said through a sigh of relief, but it's almost cursory in how quickly Clayton moves on.] Ah--water, analgesics, blankets. I got plenty a aspirin an' I'm thinkin' most a this'll wear off once the shots're finished goin' through, but dehydration's gonna be a real problem if we ain't got enough clean water lyin' around. How far away're you?

fever
lethargy
loss of appetite
blurred vision
hyper-sensitivity
confusion or memory loss
four of us down, varying symptoms
two unaffected
unknown pills found
can you identify?
[Attached is a picture of a couple pills, one flipped up, the other flipped down, so that anyone viewing can see both sides, including the code stamped into them. Please, please, let these be something that can help, because everything really sucks right now.]
text
That's aspirin. It'll help with the fever. Take two with water and a little bit of food, if you can keep it down. If anyone in your group is under twenty, don't give them any. I doubt we're dealing with anything viral but I don't want to take any risks.
Who are the unaffected ones, and do you know what they were doing yesterday?

[Clayton feels a wave of anxiety; he knows Alex is alone, and it pains him even more to know that he won't be able to send anyone in his direction--not without completely alienating Alex, or worse, putting them in harm's way later by exposing his location. At least he hasn't got some of the more severe symptoms he's been hearing about.]
Try and get somewhere comfortable. Do you have any medicine on you? Fresh water?
