[The video opens to Quark fiddling distractedly with his pockets. It takes him a second to start talking, as if he completely forgot he's already turned on the feed.]

Oh! Hey! I know people have been asking if we'd found any medicines or things like that? I didn't have any then, but I just found this not too long ago!

[Okay, a couple days ago, but it didn't occur to him to get message out there until he'd found something to eat. Now that he's remembered, he fishes what he's been looking for out of his pocket and holds it up to the camera for everyone to see: a bottle of aspirin.]

These are painkillers, right? It doesn't have anyone's name on it or anything, but I thought someone might want or need it so I should say something just in case!

[He'd found a couple other items people might be able to use, but this was the only thing that really struck him as important enough to announce.]

[While he doesn't need any medication of his own, he's been keeping an ear out for people finding some for a while. Tim needs his psychosis medicine and he's increasingly sure that Ed needs something to keep frostbite away from where the metal of his automail touches his skin.]

Not many people I know have found medicine, do you mind if I ask where you got it from?

[The vet? The pharmacy? A house?]

I don't mind!

[He looks at the bottle as if he's trying to remember.]

I found it in one of the houses to the west of the school.

[His face becomes apologetic.]

I don't remember which one of those it was, I'm sorry.

[Sorry, Al! He'd give a more specific answer...but the quick lane search option that provided him with it makes it hard to pinpoint.]

No, that's okay, even just knowing it was from one of the houses is interesting.

[He is scribbling that down to make sure it's noted for the future.]

I've never heard of anyone finding medicine actually in the houses before, so it could be a sign that things are changing? Or maybe just that medicine is really scarce.

Really? I hope so! I mean, not that things are scarce...but I hope that if things are changing, they'll change in a way that makes the resources more spread out. That way, more people can find them.

[He frowns, thinking.]

But then...I guess if everything moves, it'll be harder for us to figure out where we can find what we need without worrying about it not being there anymore when there's an emergency.

Link found a way to make sure that supplies don't move from where you've left them, you just have to make sure to shut them inside some kind of cupboard or closet... as long as they're not left out in the open, it should be fine.

[At least, it's worked so far, and Al has hopes that it will continue to prove a hard and fast rule for how much easier it will make things.]

Keeping track of how much medicine we have might be useful, but we're so spread out, I... I'm not sure if it'll be easy to get it to people.

I found some medicine a while back myself.

[It looks like the same type of painkiller from the bottle.]

There's gotta be a better supply of it somewhere.

That's true.

[And disappointing. Quark frowns before his face picks back up again in a hopeful thought.]

But, hey! Maybe we can figure out some sort of pattern to where these kind of medicines can be found! That way if anyone needs anything in the future, they might have a good idea where to look.

That sounds like a good idea.

There must be a place where medicine restocks regularly, anyway; it would make sense, considering finding food is easy if you know where to look.

Right, yeah! So if we can pinpoint important locations where all sorts of useful things appear, we can make a kind of...resource map!

[That would be really good for newcomers. They wouldn't have to struggle so much getting the things they need to survive right away. Quark almost entertains the thought of "care packages" but he has to admit that's a bit much.]

Maybe we can finally map out this entire place between the lot of us. Beyond just knowing where food and supplies appear, but also what buildings are safest.

I bet we could do that!

[This is such an encouraging conversation. It really makes Quark hopeful that everyone can get together and work on things.]

If we all put our heads together, we've got to be able to make some sort of sense of it all.

[Greed might be kind of a jerk, but he does like people.]

Between the lot of us, it's got to be possible.

[Quark can't help smiling at the praise, though he doesn't figure he really deserves much of it, since it's not anybody's super important prescription or anything.]

I've never really gotten sick or anything before, but you're right, I'll do that. I just want everyone to know that it's here if there's ever an emergency or anything!

That's good. You should hold onto it, okay? Even if no one else needs it, you might... sometime. [...Hopefully not of course, but. Gotta stay prepared.]

I'll be careful with it. I've been trying to find a way to hold onto everything I find that seems like it could be useful to have.

[But, certainly, he'd sooner hope that nobody will need it to begin with, and that includes himself.]

I've found medicine too. [Understatement. She has enough crap in her bag to make a nurse's station.] If you ever get... more seriously sick or hurt, and those pills won't help, there's this drug store in the ice tunnels. There's usually a lot of helpful stuff in there.

I haven't tried to go to the ice tunnels yet, but it sounds like there are a lot of resources there if you can look hard enough.

Yeah, there are. Not much food though. Me and some others are gonna try and get into this other building down there soon. We think it's a hospital.

A hospital! No kidding!

[The idea alone amazes Quark. He's never even seen a functioning hospital before! But then, he supposes that the hospital in Norfinbury wouldn't exactly be functional, either.]

I hope it's not too creepy. My Grandpa used to tell me that a lot of people find hospitals creepy.

[Clementine gives half a shrug.] It'd be surprising if it wasn't creepy, in this place.

...Or in any place I know. [Clementine too has not seen a functioning hospital before. She'd never needed one that she could remember before the world went to crap, and they were pretty much overrun with walkers afterwards.]

Hey, well aren't you the little pharmacist? Nice job, bud!

[Clayton looks cheerful and genuinely excited, but let's be real, his attention was really captured as soon as Quark said "I have medicine." He's on the lookout for a few prescriptions for some people, it's kind of important. But the fact that Quark hasn't found either of those doesn't disappoint him too much--he wasn't expecting to find them outside the pharmacy, anyways. Nothing gained, nothing lost. He's perfectly content to just sit here and dote on Quark instead.]

Aw, no, I didn't really do anything at all but use my eyes!

[Clayton's exuberance startles Quark, but quickly allows him to mimic the smile he's given. He feels his cheeks heat up as he laughs, bashful.]

But gee, thanks, Mister!

[Despite their rough, initial introduction, Quark can't help but find that he doesn't mind talking to Clayton at all! Turns out that he can be really nice when he isn't thoroughly paranoid. Go figure.]

[It's a wonder, isn't it! Not like Clayton straight-up lied to his face after the fact--he's too decent a human being to do something like that. We all know this.]

[Anyway, hey, Quark's happy! Clayton chuckles at his enthusiasm.]

Naw, thank you! Now if some poor soul gets hurt 'round you an' I ain't around t' help, you can keep 'em comfy 'til I get there! It'll make my job a whole lot easier.

So I can be, like...like a nurse, kind of?

[His eyes light up. He doesn't know anything about how to be a nurse. He'd never had to go to the hospital, because he'd (strangely) never gotten sick. But he figures nurses are those people who help doctors by getting the patient ready and making sure they're comfortable, so that's basically the same, right?]

I really want to help! I'm happy to help! Everyone's been so nice, so I want to do whatever I can to make up for it.

Yeah, sure! Jus' like a nurse.

[Oh god, why is Quark so fucking cute. He can't handle it. There's nothing more for it except to keep riling him up like this so that he's just never sad or afraid again, lord help him.]

I'm up by the convenience store, to the west of the school. I heard that there were a whole bunch of people up here a few days ago, but I was too far south to make it before they left.

I don't have too much right now, but hopefully I can find a bit more if I look around the store again before I leave! I made it up here, so I think I'll be okay to make it back down.

[He doesn't seem too daunted by the idea. He's little, so he figures that he can keep rationing without lasting consequences. But then, what does he know about nutrition?]

[That's what Clayton's afraid of right now, yes. He purses his lips in a slight, pensive frown.]

Hmm...well, don't go pushin' yerself too much, alright? You start runnin' low, let me know an' Enoch 'n I'll meet you up by the school t' get you some rations.

[LITTLE DOES HE KNOW that the convenience store is less than a day's walk from the shed where they're staying...oh well. This is, again, something for Clayton to be anxious about later, once he gets better bearings of the northwestern corner of town.]

[Everyone makes mistakes. Especially without a map and when everything looks visibly the same from a distance. They'll all get there eventually, as long as nothing crazy happens, so that's what's most important! Quark's mature enough for a kid to realize this.]

Okay! Thanks, Mister...I mean, Doctor Clayton! If its too hard I won't push myself.

[Clayton looks a bit like he's contemplating reaching through the tablet and vigorously ruffling Quark's hair, but he somehow manages to restrain himself.]

Atta boy. You keep yerself safe now, Nurse Quark. See you 'round.

Well done, little one.

[Enoch seems to be taking much the same route as Clayton here, all encouraging smile and gentle voice - though his voice is rarely not gentle...]

You should give it to those who need it, if you find them, but take them for yourself if you need them, as well. Though I should hope you never need them for anything more than a simple headache.

Ah...speaking of finding others, have you run across anyone else?

[Can't leave a kid unattended! They'd missed Clem, but there were others headed her way, last he knew.]

[With great medicine comes great responsibility and all of that. But Quark's happy expression calms at the next question he's given. He shakes his head.]

Nope. I've been on my own. When I got here, I was really far to the southeast and everyone seemed to be all up northwest. But now that I've gotten northwest...I think everyone's gone east and south again!

[Quark sighs. Just his luck. He manages another smile nonetheless, even if this one's less convincing.]

But it'll be okay.

[He thinks. He hopes.]

[He doesn't remember seeing this name on the obituaries. Either this kid is very new, or is a survivor. That's good, because Clayton really wants to catch up with the people headed through the tunnels. And it's a very sad flaw of Enoch's that once he's latched on to a person it takes a lot to get him to let go. Maybe if Quark had died before it would have been different. Maybe if he was more upset, it would be different. But staying with his friend wins here, especially after nearly two weeks of being completely alone.

What he can do in lieu of going to find Quark himself is direct him to the three of them.]

Well, Quark - that is your name and not a nickname, I take it? - we're going to go towards the southwest. If you go south, you ought to meet us; we'll be in the general area for a little while.

Yeah, Quark's my real name! Is Enoch your real name, too?

[Quark's smile turns to surprise.]

You wouldn't mind if I met up with you? Okay! I'll go back south again as soon as I can!

[The idea of being a part of an actual group makes him particularly excited. That in and of itself might be a good indicator of the fact that he's not one of the most recent arrivals.]

It is, and of course I wouldn't mind.

[He doesn't think Clayton would mind, either. And Dio seems decent enough to help the kid out too, or at least not to object. Whatever the case, he definitely can't leave him all alone now, not after hearing how excited he is for the idea.]

If you haven't found us after a day or two, I'll contact you - and I'll let you know if our plans change. You're quite a survivor, Quark. You no longer have to do so alone.

[He'll look forward to being messaged, and to actually finding the adults. He just hopes they don't forget about him as he stocks up on enough food to last him on the trip south.]

What kind of painkillers are those?

[ She's used to herbs and gels. What are these "aspirin" you speak of? ]

They're like little hard pills for headaches or sore joints! You swallow them with water, but some people can do it without water, which I've always thought was really neat.

Huh? Pills for headaches? [ she shakes her head. ] We don't have anything like that on my world. We use something called "gels" for injuries.

Do they work better without the water?

Gels? That sounds yummy! Do they taste good?

[He shakes his head as well.]

I don't think it makes much of a difference if they're used with water or not. They just go down easier that way since they're chalky.

Actually, some of them do--like apple and orange, but the stronger ones are lemon and pineapple. Some people don't like those flavors, so there's no chance of them being totally eaten before they're needed.

[ Oh...there's definitely a face being made right now. ]

Who would want to eat chalk?!

Nobody! That's why it's only supposed to be eaten when you don't feel well!

[Maybe people from her world are sick all the time and that's why they make their medicine so tasty. All those flavors sound so good! And, of course, he doesn't know anything about addiction.]

That doesn't make sense! Why would anyone anywhere make a medicine like that? If you're sick, shouldn't you want to take your medicine?
