It's not enhancement, blast it, it's magic. You don't know how your nanomachines deal with magic, do you? Why am I even asking. Smoke and bloody mirrors. It's all been in our minds. But we were real. So I suppose at least we're back where we started.

Do you know anything about the world outside this town?

If you mean what it's like right now, then no, except I imagine not in good shape.

But there is a world. Even if most of it is a wasteland, there is more than this town. Other places. Other chances. Maybe other people.

If there were other people, then it seems like it would be easier to bring THEM here instead of getting at all the places you're all from.

Frankly, anything seems easier than bringing us here. How could you have made all this progress, but no progress at all in making this town a little less of a hellscape? How bloody difficult can it be to do some, oh, I don't know, weather engineering?

The administrator's priorities are mostly focused on maintaining life. I don't think anyone's survived long enough for her to start working on something like that instead of just making better forms of surgery.

Is she unable to understand that she would not need better forms of surgery if people didn't keep getting hideously injured and ill? Caine's blood, you say she's human, why can't be talk to her?

There's a difference between doing something behind her back and doing something to her. Some of you have suffered those consequences.

Could something be wrong with her? What if it isn't that she's choosing not to answer?

She's busy trying to keep you all alive as long as possible.

And if she can't, then she has to cede power to you and your anomaly army. Is that right? Who enforces this transfer?

It does if I can offer you a better option. I'll be honest, Miller: I know I can't manipulate you. I've always been embarrassing at it, for a vampire. But I'm not ready to believe our interests can't align.

You know that Eve has the capacity to transfer people between worlds. She's transferred us. Perhaps we can help you get access to this technology, whatever it is, and then you can leave here the same way we will. Isn't that preferable to your current outcome?

I can't open the door any more than you all can. If you're saying you'll do it once you're back to your normal vampiric self, then it would be a bit late for a lot of you, but I suppose that's potentially an option.
