[Rhys is settled down for the night, in the evening hours after lockdown on 432. He's taken off all his extras to let them air out, and sitting in his ripped t-shirt and looking mostly comfortable. He's better at getting comfortable than anyone should by any rights, here.]

So, I am actually staying in the convenience store here in Res 3, because you don't get pushed out anymore? I was going to try and hike to the next building, but the aura was gone and...well, I didn't get shoved out. That's good news, sort of. Saves me a little hiking.

The Bad News is, that's probably because there's been a change to the food. Some of what's here has gone rotten, and I don't think there's as much stuff as there was last time I was here. Food might be starting to run out, along with everything else.

[He looks much less happy about that.]

I'm hoping it's just this store, but I'm not sure. So if anyone else hits any other places around that have food, do a check and see what you think, alright? I'm going to start rationing just in case, though.

Well, that's just another dandy development to brighten our day? The cherry on top of our anomaly situation. ... Except that even the cherry is rotten, so.

[It's Flynn's usual chatty attitude but there's something more acerbic, unpleasant about it under the surface.

Still, even he realizes that's... not very productive, so after a moment he relents for some actual input.]

Is there any way to preserve it maybe? Dry it? My mom would pickle all sorts of stuff, we would have these glasses with indefinite things years later.

Well, it could be kept frozen? A lot of it is to far gone, though. It's been out sitting for days, from what I can tell.

The non perishable stuff is good, at least, and I did manage to salvage some cheese and other stuff that is still safe. It's just that it might not be restocking anymore.

Okay the sensible thing to do is to maybe form teams to head out to each of the food stores and bring back as much of the non-perishable food as possible. If we all congregate in the bunker with what remains of the supplies then we can ration it out fairly while still working on getting through here
Plus if we keep the doors shut once everyone's inside we won't have to worry about anomalies.

I mean I know that isn't going to happen but like I said it'd be the *sensible* thing

Yeah, I'm not happy about it either, everything is moving faster toward the center of the drain.

I think gathering supplies is important.I was thinking about going to the grocery store, since there's so much food there it will last for a pretty good amount of time, even with some rotting. But we also need to keep things moving as best we can for unlocking things, so I don't know that sending out too many people is a good idea.

I wish the Bunker wasn't so fucking isolated, that makes everything harder. But I guess that's the point of a bunker.

The grocery store's probably got enough for us for a few more weeks, at least, and that's not counting the other spots where there's food left over. We've just gotta be careful.

And it could be temporary. We unlock something and it all comes back, or better yet? We just get out of here.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing. Some of the cheese sticks and other stuff actually has kept okay due to the cold and being wrapped securely, but the sandwiches are a loss. The perishable stuff is all fine.

[Rhys has a bulletproof digestive system. Cheese that's a little bit funky, he's willing to risk.]

I could haul some snow in to pack what I can, but I don't know that it would stay and I'm trying to move fast. We might just be out of luck.

We're at the grocery store. [ Royce's voice is rough and quiet as usual. He's got a burst of energy that he's attempting to take advantage of, here. ] The food is going bad and not being replaced here, too.

Shit. Thanks, Royce. That's helpful. Even with the food rotting, hopefully the non-perishables will hold up for a while. We'll just have to be careful and hope we figure something better out soon.

I'm sort of leaning toward the best second choice to handle it, though. But this is...yeah, this is kind of ominous.

We should look at clearing out whatever's left in the school cafeteria. Some of it may still be frozen; if we can organize a group of people to transport it to the bunker it may be enough to feed the group for a week or two. There's the convenience store near the pond, too.

Good call. Some places we need to get to sooner rather than later, but the school should turn up some loot no matter what...juice and sealed cups, stuff that will keep a little longer.

[He's really hoping ADMIN will say something helpful, but he's definitely not counting on it.]

I know there were a lot of vending machines in the Industrial Zone, too, I'll try and bring some stuff back when I come back, too, as long as it isn't robbing anyone who's staying there to work. But I think we definitely do need to centralize our rationing operation. The Bunker is the default, it's just a pain in the ass that it's so remote.

Yeah, it's definitely not good but... I'm doing okay. Got a little bit of cabin fever but traveling helps, and my arm's healing pretty well considering everything. It might even heal clean enough to get the tattoos redone.

That's what I'm going to do, pack it in as much snow as I can and then Steph is going to come and get it. Some of it will keep a few more days, and we can't afford to be too picky.

{That's the annoying thing about Rhys- his ability to settle into almost anything. Once you've slept in bus station benches for a long enough time, you learn to nap wherever.

Watching Sheena is making him antsy, though.]

I know, it's weird but I don't think I want to trust it, even in this cold. Some of it is still good, though.

[He stretches, and hops to his feet easily, still favoring his injured arm a bit.]

We can pack some of it in snow and at least some of the stuff that's sealed is still good. It definitely looks like there's less of everything than there was last time I was here, though. It's not getting restocked.
