Is everyone awake and alive out there? We woke up last night, but I saw that obituary with all the odd blocks and symbols. Could we take a roll call? Was there more screaming? Sherlock, Mycroft, and I were all out.

Surely you've guessed at what the next step here is, John. They'll want to take our places. Whatever sympathy you feel for them, they don't feel it for us.

How do you know that? Winter's shown more than a little sympathy for us and she's known she's 'dead' for ages. We haven't had much of a real chance to talk to these people. Flynn didn't even seem that upset with what he was. We didn't get to chat about his future plans.

Mine follows us about, when it can find us. I don't like it.

It doesn't talk much, but it watches. It's made of fire. It burns itself up, then remakes itself. It's eerie to see.
