The sun is gone.
It's not just like that for us, right? You're all seeing it too?? Or *not* seeing it, I suppose.
And the clouds are all
ugh :C
[ And a minute or two later: ]
Well since all this seems very apocalyptic I'd like to say that I'm glad I met all of you
(even the people who kinda suck)
and that I'm very grateful for my time here, whether it's about to end or not.
I'd suggest you all tell the people who matter that you love them, just in case!! Dying with things left unsaid or undone is the WORST.
Sorry to be a complete freaking downer I just think this is really important

It's the same for us. We came out of the ice tunnel area and it was fine. It's like it's all gone strange now with the clouds lighting up with static. Maybe it's the cult thing something back?
Means the data ghosts might not be completely gone.
[That was what caused static to eat the world last time, right?]

[ Because around here we run on the American Horror Story scale of evaluating threats, and everyone knows Cult was kind of dogshit and didn't even have Jessica Lange in it ]
I'm kinda thinking it's all just a sign of everything destabilising and shutting down
Like Winter warned us
I guess she never managed to do anything with the galaxy app code after all

You're kinda a giant douchebag but honestly that just kinda helps sometimes when I start feeling homesick??
So I'm happy we met even if you're a giant effing asshole who should get punched in the face more. :P

[Sentimental platitudes in the face of certain annihilation is a bit cliche, but you do you, Angel. He's just gonna ignore all the existential horror and focus on what they can figure out right now.]
In a purely objective sense, the fact the sun is has not risen when it should have is very telling as to the nature of our our world. If this is a simulation of some kind, why is it only the sun and the sky that is breaking down? Why not the physical things in front of us? Perhaps the sun itself was some kind of power source that was meant to replicate the movement of the sun?
If this is truly the end, I'm getting as many answers as we can before it all fails.
no subject
But I died with a LOT of regrets back home and I don't recommend it as a course of action. Whatever, though.
As for the breakdown, it could mean a lot of different things
Have you ever programmed anything or played a videogame?? Because then I could say that the sky shader may be glitching out, or the files for displaying them have become corrupted, or the nanomachines inside us are conserving power by cutting the rendering distance lower - meaning that far away objects get culled first.
Does any of that make sense to you??

Doesn't really explain why we'd all experience the same thing, but then again it wouldn't be the first time.

So our bodies are supposedly real, but this place isn't? That's what I'm getting out of the static clouds and vanished sun.
And if this place isn't real, why didn't they make it nice? We could be sitting on a beach in Maui right now, drinking Mai-Tais.
no subject
It could be our nanomachines hecking up our perception of things and blah blah blah
But if this IS some kinda sim or augmented reality session then maybe
Iunno
we could be being trained to go investigate the real Norfinbury or something
to find out what happened to everyone
or it could be like when we were taken by Miller to do repairs, but on a greater scale? Like by interacting with the environment this way we're somehow fixing something
or someone

Come on, guys, this is starting to sound like a funeral or something. So the sun's gone, or something, remember when it was dark like 24/7? That was way worse! We've got a bunker to open up and homes to get back to! Or other peoples' homes to get back to, if you don't want to go back where you came from! And we haven't even punched Robert in the face yet!
[There's a particular quality to his voice--it's more than that he sounds confident, it's the kind of voice that makes other people want to feel the same way. This is America putting the confidence of a powerful nation to good use, for once.
For once, it's not "believe in me", it's "believe in you", and he can say it like he hasn't been stuck here since the beginning, because dammit, he's The United States of America, and if he can't be optimistic, he's just letting everybody down when they need optimism the most.]

Maybe! Though I doubt it. I maintain that augmented reality is more plausible than an outright fabrication.

song im working on before we all get melted or whatever happens here. its been real i guess except maybe not real because all of this is very weird and bad and making me think nothings real right im sure you understand. im not grateful for my time here im just tired and angry so melt me away, admin

It's
very unusual!! So nobody else could just pick up your work and finish it for you. It'd lose your unique authorial voice.
Or something
My point being that melting is bad.

We've seen the town shutting down, before Winter saved us. It wasn't this.
no subject
[ Fussing is far more important than discussing the potential apocalypse. Obviously. ]
Unfortunately, this may be a case of the administrator culling non-essential functions of our nanomachines strategically to further eke out the power we have left. If I were her, it's what I'd be doing so that it didn't play out like last time. But... Iunno for sure, clearly, I'm just - you know. It's possible.

I summon up remembrance of things past,
I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought,
And with old woes new wail my dear time's waste:
Then can I drown an eye, unus'd to flow,
For precious friends hid in death's dateless night,
And weep afresh love's long since cancell'd woe,
And moan the expense of many a vanish'd sight:
Then can I grieve at grievances foregone,
And heavily from woe to woe tell o'er
The sad account of fore-bemoaned moan,
Which I new pay as if not paid before.
But if the while I think on thee, dear friend,
All losses are restor'd and sorrows end.

You have that memorised??
