Hey everyone, it's Al.

I've made a couple of updates and additions to the survival guide recently, and I thought I should send it out again. I know that not all the information that we have is in there, but I think that's probably for the best. This is supposed to be a basic guide to help people who are new here, and too much information at once would be overwhelming. But I do think that a compiled guide of all the information we do have would be a good idea... like the posts that-- uh.

[He hesitates a moment, suddenly realising that he probably shouldn't mention Dr. Watson's information posts on the public network, when he's so careful to keep them to the shadownet.]

Well... you all know what I mean, right? But to have it all in one place would be helpful, so if anyone would be willing to help compile that, or has information that should go in it, please chime in. We can't do this without all working together. I also think it might be a good idea to have a few words or phrases recorded in every language; things like 'I need help', or 'I'm okay', so if we're unable to understand each other again then at least we can communicate that much.

Do try not to place all newcomers under the easily overwhelmed by too many words category. I'm certain I can't be the only one who found myself woefully disappointed in the depth of information available immediately on arrival. Overwhelming. Honestly.

So I suppose that would be a vote in favour of a compiled history. If applicable, of course. Are votes how things are done here? You all seem like the types who'd go about things in such a manner. No offense, of course.

zell, dude, I love you but I was in the convenience store trying to get food and he ambushed me, broke my nose and tried to beat me to death. If he'd jumped someone who didn't know how to fight, he would have gotten them.

I'm not saying he's evil or anything, but he's...not well and people need to be careful.

I haven't put why down for other people either, not really. Because if you'll hurt someone for a reason, then there's still a time and a place where you might hurt someone else.

You tried to kill someone for an experiment that they didn't agree to. Whatever your reasons, that classifies you as definitely dangerous.

I found that I could understand some English. It was strangely accented, but I could catch a few words here and there. Apelanese and English are startlingly similar.

That being said, I think you're right with the small bits of communication and teaching words to people.

I almost thought I could understand something someone said at one point, but I just couldn't get it. It seems like I was the only person here that spoke my language, it was-- it was actually kind of frightening.

[He's not a coward, but being unable to communicate had been kind of scary, and very isolating.]

So, teach me a phrase in Apelanese that I can keep recorded for the future.

I can teach you a few words. [ He definitely makes an effort to switch - it sounds like heavily accented English, with a few differences in words. ] Danger. Safe. Inside. Outside. Food. Water.
