[network] @curiouschloride | Don't you cry no more | video | evening 332 [open]
[Tonight's video comes from an empty storage unit -- those who have been downtown might recognize it as the building just to the east of the grocery store. Tess sits back on the pile of clothes and bags she's used to build a nest meant to make the cold floor more bearable. RGBV is back to curling up in the coat/mailbag bed she assembled for him, nose barely poking out, hardly even visible on the video feed even though she's got the mailbag practically in her lap. Tess raises a hand to wave at the camera, her cheerfulness not entirely forced.]
So, I've been having a thought. Life here sucks. Like -- wow. It's just the worst. But it doesn't have to be the worst in every way, you know? So I'm down here at the grocery store, a.k.a. the one place in town you can get bacon and good bread. Took me three days to get here from the hospital. So that's a week round trip, give or take, which doesn't work for someone who's trying to get back to the death zones, but it does kind of work for someone who just wants to feed people.
That's what I'm offering. I bring up some food, people meet me in the hospital, and you get to eat something that didn't come out of a vending machine and not, you know, die of sadness from your life sucking.
So, any requests? I've got almost as much as I can carry, but I've got to go back through the store on my way back tomorrow anyway.

@Peterthegreat, audio
We gotta get someone to do a runner for us back up to SnowClan. That sounds amazing.
audio
[And a butt-ton of other languages, but no need to mention.]
So where is the legendary SnowClan carving out their territory?
audio
Well, if it was up to me, I'd say we lay claim to all of Norfinbury and you all have to pay taxes to us now. Preferably in the form of candy. Directly to me, personally. But we're hanging around the east side of the residential areas so. Y'know. Whatever.
audio
[Seems she learned...well, almost as much about others from the ordeal as they did about her.]
Pshaw, you can get candy anywhere. I've got bacon. I should probably demand...something. Pretty sure bacon possession is nine tenths of the law.
audio
[There's a pause.
...he hasn't had bacon since he was a kid. And nothing in space has come close.]
You have.
Bacon.
YOU HAVE BACON.

[Trust her, she knows what a culinary revolution this truly is.]
I mean, I already ate all the bacon, but then I got more. Kind of planning on working it in to a bunch of things at my new restaurant.
[Did she mention she was planning to cook for people? She might have made it sound like she was just going to deliver ingredients.]

[Finally, some good news.]
Now is this restaurant an actual, physical restaurant you're setting up, or are you being more figurative? Because either way, there's about to be a regular SnowClan migration of at least one dude.
[Though he's not sure if Blue would let him keep leaving on the regular like that. Maybe if he pretended he was going on patrol.]

[He won't be there for, like, two weeks, and he's not the best about appetite and eating, but in his heart, he always wants a Reuben sandwich.]

Sure. When can you be at the hospital?

i'll find them

Boring. But fine, don't let me cook you a meal fit for a god or anything. I'm sure your cold-ass sandwich is better.

God, he's pathetic.]
Congratulations on your English. You should compare notes with Angel and Rhys about cooking under duress.

We're actually heading over to the grocery store ourselves. I'm getting more ingredients for pie, but if there's anything I can carry over for you on the way back, just let me know. That way you could build up a 'stock' a little quicker, maybe?

I'll cook something that travels well for you.

And of course, you have dibs on a piece of pie, if you want one.
